It cannot be overstated the need to be able to defend not only yourself and your family – but your property/supplies after TSHTF. Those who have failed to prepare will reach a level of desperation where they very well may come to take from you (and your loved ones). You have no choice but to stop them. Having a reliable pistol should be part of your defensive system.
I have owned a Smith & Wesson M&P9 (Military & Police) for several years now. So far – this has been a fantastic pistol.

There are many reviews on YouTube as well as other sites on the net so I am not going to get into super detail here – but just provide my 2 cents. The M&P is a polymer-framed striker-fired semi-auto pistol. The pistol is designed to only fire when the trigger is fully depressed. Sights are of the 3 dot variety and are steel. Like many modern pistols today – the M&P has an integral Picatinny rail forward of the trigger guard for the attachment of weapon lights and lasers.

I have owned several pistols over the years including a 1st generation Glock 17, Government Model 1911 45 ACP, Kimber double-stack .45ACP, SCCY 9mm, S&W 686 Classic Hunter, Beretta 92 9mm, and a Smith & Wesson Sigma 9mm. When I initially bought the M&P my mind was made up to purchase a 3rd generation Glock 17 – after all I loved my first.
I remember when I arrived to the gun shop I decided to take a gander at all of the offerings in my price range. The M&P was a newer pistol and I asked to see it. Once I held it I had to have it. It felt like it was designed to fit perfectly in my hand. With the replaceable back-straps these handguns can be a great fit for almost anyone. I bought the M&P which included 2 17 round magazines and a pretty nice hard case.
Over the last few years I have found the M&P to be flawlessly reliable – not experiencing any malfunctions of any kind. I have fired well in excess of 3,000 rounds. I have also found it to be very accurate and handles great.
