Lucid Dreaming | All day Awareness? Questions, need help :)

Hey, so for the past maybe... four days or five days I've been practicing All Day Awareness, A DILD Tutorial by KingYoshi and I guess I'am contemplating whether of not I'am doing this correctly.

During the day, since I am just starting off. I choose sessions. until I become better. They usually start off by me questioning "Am I dreaming.." And I repeat this for maybe 2 more times, and by this time my

senses are heightened and I'am alert, as much as I can be. Listening. Ex: Listening to the cars wheels against the ground, birds, the wind brushing upon my skin. People and whatnot. For sight, I try to pay attention to what's going on around me. I catch butterflies moving in and out of the corner of my eyes. I feel my feet on the ground. I pay attention to the way my clothes feel, and what they look like. During this I also perform RC's (Nose plug, finger count, sometimes gravity. At the end of the sessions I questions how I got to the point I'am at. "How did I get here?" "Why am I here?" and I come up with a good explanation. After that, it's over and I go back to what I do.

sessions time: 5 minutes long

session intervals : every hour or so.

I just feel like I'am doing this wrong.. I tried asking for help on the thread, but no one yet. If anyone can shoot me a message, or give me a hand that'd be great. Happy Dreaming! :sleepmeditate2:

Last day of the July Emergency Essentials sale……

Lucid Dreaming | Awoken - Android App

Hi everyone! I want to present to you an app which I recently discovered. It is called "Awoken" and is, as far as I know, only available on Android.

For those of you that don't know this app, it basically reminds you to do a reality check. It lets you choose how many times you want to be reminded during waking life and while you're asleep. It goes like this: Between 7:00 and 23:00: 20 clues (an example).

The great thing about this is that you can choose a sound that is played everytime you're given a clue. In my opinion, the "bubbles" sound is the best, but do see which one works best for you!

This sound is not only played while you're awake, but also while you're dreaming. So it gives you a clue while you're asleep, and if you notice it you perform a reality check and attain lucidity. That's the gist of it.

I've been using this app for about 1 week, and I am very happy with it. It is much more fun for me to question my reality, and I seem to do it constantly and by habit! Even my friends are doing a reality check everytime that bubble sound plays, which adds to the motivation. I haven't had any lucids with this app so far (only had 1 anyways :P) but I feel like it's getting me that much closer.

I do encourage you to try it out for yourselves, because I think you will like it.

I've got one question though: Has anyone ever had success with this method of becoming lucid, or similar others? You know, hearing a sound in your dream and then doing a RC, becoming lucid.

Lucid Dreaming | DILD Questions and Help

I have gotten a WILD and a few DILDs (just randomly realized I was dreaming, but continued with the dream) but I have decided that DILD would be the best method for me. I think that because once school starts again I won't be able to WILD in the morning anymore because I will have to wake up and get ready for school. The problem is I can't really do random reality checks and question reality during the day (especially once school starts). Are there any other ways to do DILD easier or is there another method that would be best for me? Thanks in advance!

Lucid Dreaming | Improved clarity in a non lucid dream

Last night, though i cant remember it well, i was having a dream about trying to text or read something but i couldnt because the dream was very fuzzy. It was a non lucid dream and at no point did i register that i was dreaming :[ but i did use the technique i read about for improving dream clarity, i said out loud "clarity now!" and then i rubbed my hands together. The dream became crystal clear and i think i was able to continue, though i cant remember what happened after that. It felt like i was actually thinking in the dream, because i remembered that i had read how to improve dream clarity and i remembered what i had read, but i didnt know i was asleep.

Have any of yous had experience with this? Is this a step towards lucidity or just a dream? :]

Lucid Dreaming | Sleep Breathing and Lengthy Dreams

I Checked A Couple Other Posts and Didn't See This:

So recently after picking up an interest in lucid dreaming again and I was trying some sleep breathing. This is where you imitate your breathing as if you are asleep and it is suppose to put you into sleep paralysis yadayadayada (Yes I'm aware that most people say sleep paralysis doesn't work for lucid dreaming cause you need a condition or something just put that aside for now). Now after I while I get very intense vibrations over my entire body and it feels very odd. However from my experiences I haven't gone from this stage to lucid dreaming.

Except something odd does happen.

Now I know that this isn't coincidental because it has happened on the last 3 occasions I have tried this method. So, after I do my sleep breathing and it fails, I tend to just go to bed and it actually takes a surprisingly short amount of time. The weird part is that each time I have had one very lengthy and very vivid dreams (I tend not to remember my dreams except during WBTB but these were just from going to bed for the first time.

So does sleep breathing actually have anything to do with these long vivid dreams I'm having or is it all just a very convenient coincidence? Also is there any way to use this to attain lucidity in some way?

A response would be appreciated. Also I'm pretty sure this should be here and not in WILD due to it being a sort of different question but if the moderators want to move it there instead w/e XD I was never very good at deciding where forums posts should go.

Lucid Dreaming | how do i get over this obstacle ?

So basically I've been trying to lucid dream for like month.

Before that I had dream recall like maybe 1 good dream in 1 - 2 weeks.

Now I discovered interesting pattern in my dream Journal. It's like 1 long and vivid dream , 2 short or no dream, 1 long and vivid and again 2 short or no dream.

So also I've noticed that last 3 days have been all long and vivid dreams (dream recall increased to 1 night 1 dream? Thou I feel like I've been dreaming before the vivid dream, but can't remember what).

But the obstacle is , how do i get lucid now ? Or should I improve my dream recall way further ? I've been doing RC's (the finger counting and looking at palms ,pushing finger through palm, and trying to breathe with plugged nose),whenever I remember throughout the day. But it seems like every dream for me is like reality and I don't even think about doing any RC's or I don't have even a thought that I'm dreaming.

Usually I try to MILD(I've tried a lot of Mantras,it's just hard to make one short and meaningful in my language) and DILD combination, I can't really do WILD's, because I have to wake up at 5:00AM -6:00AM every day.

I'm also trying to listen to Isochronic or binaural beats before bed (I don't know I think they help somehow, maybe that's just psychology).

So any suggestions on this  ? I really want to LD, so I don't think I've lost my inspiration to try achieve it.

Thanks

Retrotechtacular: A tour of WLW, a 500,000 kW radio transmitter

retrotechtacular-wlw-transmitter-tour

This is an overview of a 500,000 Watt radio transmitter site. It’s one of the slides shared in a guided video tour of the transmitter’s hardware. The radio station — whose call sign was WLW — called itself the Nation’s Station because of its ability to reach so much of the country.

It operated at the 500 kW level starting back in the 1930′s. The technology at the time meant that there were a lot of challenges involved with transmitting at this level of power. It took 750 kW input to achieve the 500 kW output. To reach that the station had a set of AC motors in the basement generating the 4500 Amps at 33 Volts DC needed to power the transmitter. Obviously there was a lot of heat generated at the same time. The system was water-cooled. An elaborate network of Pyrex pipes carried distilled water to and from the tubes to handle the heat dissipation.

The video tour lasts about thirty minutes. It’s just packed with interesting tidbits from the experts leading the tour so add it to your watch list for some geeky entertainment over the weekend.

Lucid Dreaming | Help? I Hate Napping almost as Much as I Hate Mnemonics . . .

. . . and yet it seems that I'm guaranteed lucidity just about anytime I nap.

I don't have a job and therefore I can't buy any supplements that could help me achieve lucid dreaming, or at the very least enhance my regular dreams, and of course I don't do drugs or drink. However, I keep a dream journal by my bed and can usually remember two to three dreams per night (but I admit that the notion that people have any more than five dreams when they go to sleep is confusing for me--you know, one of those things that I'm just going to have to experience to really get), I practice reality checks, and I set my intentions beforehand. I've known about lucid dreaming since I was in the seventh grade, and in a few weeks' time I'll be entering my junior year--and I only have fourteen lucid dreams that I am aware of.

Now I won't lie and say that I've been completely faithful to all things lucid in those four years and so I understand that I can't say that I've shown an amazing amount of dedication. However, during the times that I am interested in lucidity, they usually last for weeks and even months. The impatience is probably a huge problem, maybe even the biggest enemy that I have on this subject, but I'm not sure how to get past it. From past experiences I can conclude that I'll be much more faithful to LD'ing if I can just have and remember one, and so I'm afraid that if I focus on nothing but dream recall (because, let's face it--if it's true that I can have up to ten or fifteen-plus dreams every time I go to sleep then of course I've had more than fourteen lucid dreams to date . . .) then I'll lose interest and the cycle will just keep going.

As I said above, I can't buy any type of supplements that might help, at least not in the nearest future, and all mnemonics are for me is a sure way to ensure insomnia for the night. If I take a nap them I know I'm going to have a lucid dream, but . . . I hate napping. :whyme:

Does anyone around here have any suggestions that I haven't tried? Maybe even a magical cure for the whole "napping" thing?

Lucid Dreaming | moments of waking

so last night i set my intention to remember to do a wbtb and actually get up for a bit instead of passing back out. in the past i have used an alarm but not this time, i woke up naturally and somehow caught myself in a comfortable sleep paralysis. my mental energy is of the over active type so it didn't take long for me to realize i'd woken up and am in a sp. i tried remembering the last dream i woke from but only vaguely recalled the feeling of the dream, so i decided to move around. i drank some water, closed my window so the traffic wouldn't wake me up and went back to bed. the problem is now i find it difficult to fall asleep again because even after just 5 min awake my brain is running all its noisy useless thoughts. i bet it would have been useful to record the dream i woke from if i recalled it, but based on what i told you that would likely cause me to wake up too much right? also, what do you suggest i do when i wake up in sp, or some state likely to send me straight back to sleep, mantra, recall last dream? those first moments of waking are really evasive making it hard to act on techniques.

Lucid Dreaming | Sleep Paralysis-FAILS

:D

Post all those times you were lame and failed to use sleep paralysis to induce lucid dreaming.

So this morning I was obsessed with waking up. I think it was because my stomach was growling and I just wanted cereal. I could hear my family eating breakfast in the kitchen (real life). I open my eyes but my vision is so blurry and weird because I'm really not awake. I think 'wait for me!'. But I just can't keep my eyes open. Oh well.

I close my eyes and I felt like my brain was falling asleep. You know that tingling sensation when your hand falls asleep? Thats what it felt like on the right side of my head. As it got all tingly I thought 'oh thats okay, ill just fall asleep again'. And then suddenly, it felt like someone took a vacuum to the right side of my head and they were trying to suck my brains out! It was scary! I scream "STOP!". But when I open my eyes of course there's no one there.

I was at least happy to finally be awake. Wait no? I'm still asleep. My room is all wrong and wonky. My desk is missing. Its white and empty. And there's a ironing board staring at me. WHY IS IT STARING AT ME! I couldn't move. But the ironing board keeps getting closer and closer to my face. HOW ANNOYING! I slap it down. I close my eyes and try again to wake up.

I can't move. I don't even have the energy to try. I think "lift, lift". Finally I roll out of bed and make my way to the bathroom. Wait, somethings wrong. I can't feel anything! Damn I'm still asleep.

I close my eyes again and try again. I lift my body again, but this time I know its still the dream because I feel weightless. Damn! I try again. The only way for me to finally move my physical body, was to take a really deep breath, like I'm about to jump in a pool.

I finally lift my real waking eyes! I lift my body out of bed just to confirm I'm actually here. It took all of my effort. Half-awake, I don't even remember anymore why I was such in a rush to wake up? Why did I want to wake up? I look at my clock and decide to sleep some more. I close my eyes and pass out for an hour.

lol...sigh.

1. Is this a common problem in LDing?

Lucid Dreaming | Picking up where i left off

Hi everyone,

This is my second account on this awesome forum and my third (possibly fourth) post. About 10 months ago i got really into trying to lucid dream, i achieved one 10 second lucid dream after about a month of keeping a dream journal, reality checks, repeated mantras and lying still before sleep. I left it for about three months then as i had to prep for exams. After picking it up again on march the 5th, i managed to achieve a dawning awareness type lucid dream on the 24th of march. It was like i had a suspicion i was dreaming in one dream which carried over to the next and resulted in me doing a reality check (pushing my finger through my palm) and realising i was asleep, unfortunately i needed the toilet so bad (lol :?) that i woke up within seconds of realising i was dreaming. I also didnt have total control and things were a bit blurry. About a month after this success i had to stop trying again so that i could focus on exam preparation. Now its three or more months since my original successes and i really want to pick up where i left off. Is that even possible though? I have seven weeks till college starts and i would really love to have some success in that time. So my question is, what are the best ways to get back into lucid dreaming quickly and what are the most successful techniques?

Lucid Dreaming | 3 tips that helped me

I have had no lucid dreams for about 3 weeks and tonight i had 3 long lucid dreams within 2 hours. It never happened to me this. I'll tell you what i have learned here, suggesting some tips that may help others.

B-MILD - What i did differently this time was using a technique i read that's called Breathing Induced MILD. It consists of repeating a sentence (a mantra) of your choice synchronizing with your breath. For example: "Every time I dream ..." (during breathing out) "... i'll be lucid." (during breathing in). I did it when i woke up from a dream and until i sleep. Whenever i entered a dream i was not lucid immediately but the first strange signal in the dream i saw, it awakened my lucidity.

Stabilize the dream - everytime the dream started to disappear and i began to wake up, i started to rub my hands non stop until a new location appears. It worked very well. On a dream today, i was in space, then everything disappeared and everything was dark. I never saw my hands but i still rubbed them nonstop until i appeared in another environment and continued in a new dream.

Speak telepathically - It happens to me often, being unable to speak. My mouth does not move. The solution is: don't stress out and talk even by thought. It works. I was talking to a doctor on today's dream. I asked questions without moving my mouth and he could understand me perfectly and answered all my questions. It figures, because we are talking to our subconscious, so we do not need our mouth for it.

I hope these tips help you. Have nice dreams.

Lucid Dreaming | Found my miracle technique to DILD without fail!

Hello everyone! -Sorry for the long post, just so happy I've finally found my miracle technique for (so far) lucid dreams every night-

I just can't not share this with everyone because I'm ecstatic!

I've been trying to LD really for about 2 months if not more..

Done loads of research of Dreams/Lucid Dreaming/Sleep in general..

I spoke to the best people out there for advice, I really gave it my all..

Nothing came of it really, sadly, and I didn't have much time in the day to practice as I've just been so busy, I kind of gave up on it (for now).

BUT then suddenly, 4 nights ago, I had a vague lucid dream, I just recall knowing I was dreaming and observing the dream environment, it wasn't anything to shout about to anyone else, but it was something great to me, because it was a start to me finally being able to lucid dream! It was just SOMETHING in the right direction which is all I wanted...

Then, the next night, AGAIN, I had a LD, a DILD, and it was a bit longer, and a bit more happened in it, both were low awareness so I didn't really do much, nothing god-like, nothing too special, was just enjoying the dreamscape and trying a few weird things.

I didn't know why this happened until my girlfriend pointed out a pattern..

Both times I went to bed at 2am-3am (normal for me), woke up at 6:20am (still normal), BUT I went back to bed both these nights at about 10am, for an hour...

The next day I thought maybe this would be a good time to WILD, being so tired and if I'm DILDing, maybe it'll go well, it didn't..

I just can't relax atm with a WILD, constantly worrying it's not gonna work and how much time I have left to do it heh.. so was a little bit dissapointed..

ANYWAY, then the next day, I tried the exact same as the first 2 times, went to bed again at 10am, this time for 20mins, and WOW I had like 3 lucid dreams, in odd segments..

I was at school (left now) and people were crying, there were bombing going on (classic dream for me) but for ONCE I was like "this has to be a dream", so i tried to really open my eyes, forcing them open, and it worked.. I woke up, but in my dream, I was just somewhere else on holiday with my GF, then I went back to bed (in my dream) and tried to get another lucid, and I did... I woke up where I was on holiday, knowing I was lucid, and just slid around the sand on my belly like a penguin! Loads of fun!

Anyway... THAT'S IT for me.. my miracle technique, no effort, nothing to it, just careful timing, and all 3 times it's worked wonders, I must hit REM really early because my recall was LOADS better after just 20mins nap, and I know it took me at least 5mins to fall asleep, so for all that really happened to have just been 15mins, I find shocking, this was a long dream for me!

I'll just point out, I never lucid dream, so this is amazing, and not a coincidence!

Can't thank my girlfriend enough, if she hadn't of noticed the pattern, I never would've found out.

Mind = blown!

:D

Survival Fiction: “Huddled In the Dark”

Lucid Dreaming | Am i closer?

It's already the 2nd dream similiar to this one.

"Somehow i don't remember how it all started, i just know i was lucid already and was hanging out

around my home, when i go to the kitchen i see my brother and my mom seated on those black chairs.

My brother is doing something on his laptop although i didn't look at it, I plugged his nose and told him "try to breathe now"

I felt his nose on my fingers and felt he could breathe, well he was dreaming now. Next, i get near my mom and plug her nose

and i tell her "You said lucid dreams weren't real, try to breathe now" I could feel her nose and felt her breathing as well and i told her.

See? You are dreaming, i was kinda happy and excited to bring them on my dream and because i was lucid of course (i wasn't )

then i go to the sitting room, but i have to stop on the middle of the kitchen because my mom asks me "Okay, what am i supposed to do now?"

I told her "Well, you can see your mother that died" she says "I don't want to see her dead" I say... "You can just resurrect her, just try to imagine her

when she was alive."

Lucid Dreaming | Cant Become Lucid In A Dream *Help Me*

I have been obsessed with Lucid Dreaming for the past 2 days and have been trying to have a Lucid Dream. I have only been trying for 2 nights and have not had success so far. I am worried because it seems like it comes so easily to everyone else *at least on the forums*. I had a Lucid Dream once a long time ago but I got over excited *I was 6 years old* and woke up. I didn't know what it was anyway. I have been doing Reality checks regularly in Waking Life. But I guess not in my dreams. I have also been having trouble remembering my dreams. Last night was the first Night I really remembered my dream *read my dream journal*. The dream was about Dream Recall so maybe it was a sign that I will be remembering my dreams more often then before. Please help me get my first real Lucid Dream and tell me if you guys had trouble when you first started too.

Lucid Dreaming | Keep Waking Up a Couple Hours Before WBTB Time..

Hey Guys,

For the past, I guess three days (or nights) including tonight, I've been trying to do a WBTB, and then WILD.

I've been going to bed at 10:00 - 11:00PM, and setting my alarm for about 3:00 - 4:00AM. Every night for the past three nights, I've woken up at about 1:30AM, not too awake, and then I slowly wake up without realizing it. I try to go back to sleep, but I simply can't. I've tried laying in the same spot until my arm goes numb (I sleep with one arm under my pillow), and I've tried going to bed the regular way. Why is this happening?! It is SO frustrating, because then I have to stay up and then go to sleep at about 11:00AM - Noon, and sleep until about 5:00PM! Any advice here would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

Lucid Dreaming | Second attempt at lucid dream with a RC - Everything went white? And then I lost the lucidity?

Hi, I'm pretty new to lucid dreaming and was wondering if anyone could help me figure out what happened during my second time doing a successful reality check? The first time it worked (the one where you push your pointer through your palm) I got too excited and woke myself up.

The second time I did it was last night, but it didn't feel like my first RC where I KNOW I got myself too excited. This time right before I did the RC in my dream I sort of had a "sense" that I already knew I was in a dream, so as I started to push my finger into my hand, I told myself "don't get too excited if it goes through". When my finger did go through my hand, I had a quick moment of "yay!" but then I tried my best to calm myself down. I tried to make my body fall backwards and I tried to touch my surroundings, etc but it was really hard to do because everything went white as soon as I realized I was in a dream. There was nothing to touch, it was just a blank white. (Also I can't remember what my surroundings were prior to the RC. I can't remember anything that may have happened in my dream before doing the RC.)

Is everything going white a common thing when doing a successful reality check? Because I'm curious if I managed to do it correctly and was on the right track to a lucid dream. After everything went white and I tried to stabilize myself a few times, I must have fallen into another dream (a non-lucid one) because when I truly woke up, I had both the memory of "becoming" lucid, and then experiencing a non-lucid dream. I was kind of let down that I didn't get to have any fun controlling anything lol.

Did that whiteness mean I lost my lucidity midway in my sleep, or did I possibly wake up and fall back asleep (without my conscious mind being aware of the fact)? I'd like to know what I can do to fight that whiteness if I get back to it. I tried my best to stabilize myself but it was too hard to do with....nothing lol.

If anyone could help me understand what happened, and give me ideas on how to remain calm/stabilized during the whiteness and get past it to a lucid dream, that would be great. =)

Lucid Dreaming | To know and not being aware?

Sometimes I have dreams where I know it's a dream although it looks like I'm not aware of the fact that it's a dream. I have a good control over the dream and usually I use to ride on the plot, playing the dream as it was some sort of movie and I'm the main actor, "editing" the dream whenever I see it's necessary because of I know I can do that and other things like performing dream powers, etc. I don't count these dreams as any sort of lucid dreams.

I'm wondering if I should consider these dreams as LD's although with a very low level of lucidity?

Lucid Dreaming | The first ( and maybe last) step in lucid dreaming induction

When we start practicing LDing, the first step is usually to develop dream recall, which requires learning to ask what we were dreaming about in the very first moments after a natural awakening. This is specially effective if we stay still and keep the same position in which we woke up ( not a serious problem if we move though ).

The ability to stay still and relaxed after a natural awakening is also the most important skill in DEILD ( which is the less effortful induction technique i know ). Mastering this technique means multiple LDs every night, which is not very common and more difficult with other techniques. DEILD is also a sleep -friendly technique as you must focus on falling asleep.

So, specially for begginers, keep motivation to improve your dream journaling skills - specially that important "stay still and relaxed" step. Focus on it, and allow yourself to sleep :dreaming:

You maybe on the road to master DEILD  and become a LD god

I know this is obvious to most people, but basics are so easily forgotten. And sorry if the title thread is somewhat misleading :)

News you NEED to Know……..

Lucid Dreaming | First Lucid Dream!

It began with me, and two buddies of mine walking into an office building. We all had guns. My idea was that we were robbing the place, but we had to make it to the top floor (weird because I've never even stole anything, ever). Many guards shot at us and we shot back, however my bullets would hit them and they'd go down but leave no wound- which was pretty odd. After awhile I was walking through these cubicles. While walking through, I saw some lady and grabbed her breasts although I completely forgot why I did it (I haven't used my Dream Journal in about 2 months but I probably should have when I woke up). Anyway, I think I noticed the absurdity of the situation I was in and wanted to see what would happen. She didn't really react so I just kinda kept going... eventually we began to have sex but I moved on because I was left behind by my friends. But then, the most confusing part happened, as soon as I turned the corner I was in my High School walking through the hallway. It didn't even occur to me that I went from a professional level robbery to just walking through to the next period. Maybe I switched into a new dream, because the transition is kinda blurry. Anyway, a completely different friend of mine came up to me and asked me something (can't recall what) and I just responded, "Naw man, we're dreaming". As if he was also dreaming at his house in the real world and we were sharing a dream. After that I kept walking and met up with a girl that I had had a relationship in the past with (I broke up with her). I knew there were no consequences so I started kissing her and touching up on her but nothing beyond that. After that I went to this weird Asian receptionist and told her to right me a note to leave school. She wrote it, and then as I was walking out of the building I saw another girl. I did the same thing with the first one but I wanted to actually finish this time, however she reacted kind of shocked and which freaked me about because even if it's just a dream, I'd still feel guilty just by doing something to her that she didn't like, so I just jokingly said, "You know you want to." and shortly after that she started kissing me. Problem was, I started closing my eyes and the dream ended.

This experience really sparked a new interest in Lucid Dreaming. Of course it was fun with the girls, but the robbery was so incredibly intense. It was as if I was the main character of Grand Theft Auto.

So, I guess the reason I put this is Attaining Lucidity was because I did nothing in preparation for this dream and Lucid dreaming hasn't even crossed my mind in over two months. Upon my awakening I tried to WILD for about an hour but I got to restless. So, how could I obtain this sort of experience and control it even more. It seemed like I was controlling my ACTIONS but I already had a predetermined path and I couldn't really control where I was going.

EDIT: SP, and I also have another question... Was closing my eyes the reason I woke up? Even though I woke up about exactly 10 hours after going to sleep, but it felt like it ended as SOON as I closed them.

Lucid Dreaming | Which method? Where to start?

Hey all!

So I'm trying to attain lucidity, but I don't know where to start. I hear about ld a year or two ago, and I would try to ld off and on. Now, I'm serious. But where should I start? I've been trying to do RCs but I often forget. Also, I don't want to look like a wierdo in public by looking at my palms for 10 seconds lol. I am trying to keep a dream journal, but I can't always remember to use it.

Also, does what we do before we go to bed affect the way we dream? I spend at least a good hour and a half reading the Lord of the Rings and praying/reading the Bible before I go to bed. Could I somehow incorporate that into my reality checks? Because by the time I am done with that hour and a half of reading and praying, it is really late and I feel exhausted. Would that be a good time to WILD?

Any suggestions would be helpful. I hope to be lucid dreaming by the end of the summer!

Lucid Dreaming | Getting Back Into Lucid Dreaming...The Struggle

Hi DV. I've been very active over the past week or so since I had my last intentional Lucid Dream. I started trying to get back to it two weeks ago and began to RC regularly as I used to. I pulled off a lucky lucid almost two weeks ago from today and I haven't had one or even a close one since. I'm getting kind of frustrated now. I've been journaling, I've had better recall, I've been doing ADA and I've been so on fire to have a LD but I've gotten no results. Luckily the ADA has improved my recall substantially, but otherwise there's nothing. I've never had such a struggle before while so psyched to get lucid, and it's really annoying me. So the question is, what should I be doing?

Lucid Dreaming | Nervous about DEILD after a lucid dream

I've been wanting to try DEILD, but I have a fear I'd like to clear up first before diving in.

I'm afraid to DEILD after a lucid dream because I'm worried I'm going to fail, have a regular dream, then forget my lucid. This seems a little silly now that I've written it out, and I'm sure 90% of my problem with DEILDing is this negative thinking. But there it is. Has this ever happened to you, or am I just worrying myself away from trying one of the easier LDing methods?

My current solution is to only try to do this after a non-lucid dream, but this is sidestepping the problem instead of fixing it. I'm hoping some of you can allay my fears. :)

RAMBLINGS and MUSINGS of a TRAVELING PREPPER

Lucid Dreaming | On the verge of success with SSILD, need a nudge

I've been trying various methods lately to increase LDs that I have but haven't noticed much difference. I LD naturally now and then so its not so easy for me to measure if a technique is giving me more LDs or not.

For the last week or so I've been trying SSILD in the morning after about 5 or 6 hours of sleep. I've seen a sharp increase in number of lucids; I've had at least one lucid on each night I practiced SSILD, though I sometimes fail the method because I'm not great at getting to sleep unless I've only just woke. My main problem is that all of these lucids have been incredibly weak. Even for those that have lasted more than a couple of seconds, I don't even try and stabilise the dream and just wander mindlessly. I'm hoping someone with some experience on this method/problem has any pointers for me? I've had very few lucids lately before SSILD, could it be that I just need more time and experience with the method? This morning I was in and out of lucidity and sleep so I feel like I'm very close to getting there, I feel very inexperienced with lucids in general lately.

Another thing is about WILD. I don't intentionally aim for a WILD but if I notice myself going into one I try to stay with it, never had any luck though. This morning I was doing SSILD and was struggling to sleep after but did not move. Eventually I could feel something on my head and could hear a razor noise, the feeling I had was my hair being cut, I then started to see white figures (no detail) pass through my vision. I don't remember my body shaking, only feeling a bit disconnected from me. Then I woke again, does that sound like I was close to a WILD?

They combine up to five or six different techniques (DILD, WILD, MILD, WBTB, DCT) I use HILD to induce lucid dreams at will SSCR stands for Six Stage Combined Relaxation There are six stages of SSCR: 1- MILD (developed by Stephen LaBerge) 2- Rhythmic Breathing 3- 61-Point Relaxation 4- Tactile Visualizations (used by Thomas Yuschak) 5- Seeded Visualizations 6- Submission This is a 'complicated' technique to learn, since there are so many steps. When I do SSCR, my mind doesn't drift as much as with SSILD. By Noah Germain 4 days ago

Six Stage Combined Relaxation Technique

Used for: Inducing WILDs, OBEs, DILDs and DEILDs

Stage 1- Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams MILD is based on prospective memory (remembering to do a future task) 1- Choose a dream you have previously recorded to use for the MILD technique 2- Lie on your back, use Autosuggestion, then visualize yourself back in the dream. 3- imagine yourself becoming lucid, doing a reality check, and saying 'I am dreaming!' 4- Imagine yourself taking control of the dream 5- Repeat steps 2 through 4 until you feel alert enough to move to WILD methods Stage 2- Rhythmic Breathing Gradually direct your attention to your breathing. Divide your breathing into intervals, by saying mentally Breathe In...2...3...4 Out...2...3....4 Do this in sets of 4, until you feel relaxed by Noah Germain 4 days ago

Stage 3- 61-Point Relaxation Focus on each of the sixty-one points of the body You must memorize the diagram in this link: The 61 Point relaxation Technique - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views Stage 4- Tactile Visualizations Tactile visualization means focusing solely on sense of touch (like in SSILD). The difference is you are preparing for an Out of Body Experience (a dream, of course) 1- 'Feel yourself' floating above your bed in a higher position. Imagine that your legs are rising. 2- Feel yourself floating back down, and your legs pointing downwards When you are in sleep paralysis, you will repeat this step to enter a lucid dream. By Noah Germain 4 days ago

Stage 5- Seeded Visualizations These are a mixture of active and passive Visualizations At this point, it is CRUCIAL to switch from your back to your most comfortable sleeping position. 1- turn over to your most comfortable position 2- create a visual image of anything which comes to your mind (5 seconds) This could be random (for example, a car) 3- watch this image passively, and allow it to take on a life of its own (5 seconds) For example, the car might suddenly move, or change shape Stage 6- Submission You are now ready to fall asleep. You might experience tingling sensations. If you did the technique right, you will feel great relaxation Now, you will look for hypnagogic imagery. 1- assess your alertness. If you feel you are alert enough, you can skip the following steps, and quickly enter sleep paralysis. 2- imagine an invisible black square in the top right corner of your vision 3- Focus on this square for five seconds, looking for hypnagogic images 4- completely relax and submit for five seconds 5- repeat steps 1 to 4 until you see hypnagogic images, or enter sleep paralysis by Noah Germain 4 days ago

I suggest everyone looks up SSCR lucid dreaming on the web. I have my own video describing the technique.

Lucid Dreaming | Burst of reward on becoming lucid

This might be well-trodden ground research (and experiment) wise, but I was thinking if a sudden, massive reward on becoming lucid may increase our chances of becoming lucid in the future. Anyone done any research or done some experiments?

I know some folk try to reward themselves for lucids once they awake from an LD, and some have taken a "Lucid dream tonight or else!" kind of mentality (but "If I don't LD tonight I'm not eating for three days!" ain't my kinda thing) but I'm talking about an instant reward while still in the dream.

I'm thinking the reward may be something physical like immersion in a giant vat of cream cakes, sex (of course), or having an instant all-over massage by ten "slaves". The intellectual could be something like having great pleasure at hearing music you like, or reliving the moment you met your spouse.

I think it would have to be something instant and very intense. (So no foreplay, just going straight to the "oooh" stuff maybe).

Lucid Dreaming | WILD or SSILD? Opinions

I just wanted your all opinions on the two techniques. I've had about 7 lucid dreams, but can't decide which one i should stick with. Shall I say, which one is more proven to be consistent and trustworthy. Thanks for the replies.

Lucid Dreaming | Fake Lucid Dreams

Hi there,

I've been searching about this topic both on Google and here, but it seems there isn't a concept for "Fake Lucid", same as we have one for "Fake Awakening". I don't think they can even be considered "lucid", but just normal dreams.

Let me explain myself...

Just this night I had this dream where I was lucid, supposely, but I did really weird things in an already existing world and I was somehow trapped in it, and I assure you that it was not "me", the one in there.

In the few (and very short) real lucid dreams I had, it was me and I could try to calm down, do RCs, or walk here and there trying to stabilize the dream and explore the world. In this case, I was just like "hey, this is a dream, cool, lets have some fun"... but once I woke up I realized I was just "dreaming I was lucid".

In this dream I started runing in this unkown village, trying to impress people jumping from wall to wall or climbing buildings using the valconies. The thing is that I didn't have the strenght to do it properly, often failing. I also did a bit mess and a crowd was trying to get me, and I told them "don't you realize you can't do anything to me?" as I started to TRY levitate away from them.

The thing is that I started flying a bit, but gravity was stronger. Somehow it was a "lucid" dream, in which I was trapped by the real dream, meaning that really I wasn't lucid, but just dreaming that I was having a lucid dream, or something like that.

That's what I think about this experience. It's a situation where you can't stop to think, or do RCs, etc. because simply, you are not really lucid... it's a normal dream.

This night I also had a strange dream, what I would also call fake lucid... after a long adventure with other people (seemed like a movie, with the army following us, riding a train ilegally, jumping in the desert, hanging from a helicopter...), suddenly one person started deforming in front of me. What I said?: "Hey, hey! wait! We are OK.. don't you realize? If that's happening to you, then YOU're dreaming!!"

So, I suddenly "realized" that the other person was dreaming

I calmed everybody down, told them everything was OK and that nothing was going to happen. I asked him to try stay asleep so we could have some fun... but he decided to wake up. My last words were "no, no, dont wake up!".

So, in both cases I realized it was a dream when I woke up, but both were dreams about "dreaming I'm lucid"...

What are your experiences/opinions on this? I mean, those dreams where you think you're lucid, you don't have full control (but you think you have) and when you wake up you realize it wasn't really "you".

Thanks!

Regards.
