Lucid Dreaming | WHAT kind of LUCID is this????

Hey guys!

Last nite, i had a very long lucid...but i have no idea what kind it was....

I went to bed....slept for 4 hours....woke up.....

I remember dreaming I gave one of my co-workers a "mash potato sandwich"......thats all i could remember...

SO...

gave myself a mantra according to what i last remembered dreaming....

then visualized myself becoming lucid while giving him the sandwich

went to the bathroom, smoked a cigarette....got back in bed....

tried the MILD method....but it was keeping me awake.....so i said screw it...

relaxed myself.......finally went to sleep.....

i dont know what point i finally fell asleep, but i didnt have the same dream....i never saw my co-worker, no sandwich...nothing.

i went straight into a LUCID DREAM.......

what do you call this??? i didnt WILD, no SSILD, no DILD, DEILD, and my MILD attempt was aborted.....

so what do you call this when you go to sleep str8 in to a lucid dream?

Lucid Dreaming | Does anybody have a technique for micro lucid dreams?

A micro ld is where you slip into an ld very quickly from a sleepy state. The ld will orobably be an FA, then you wake up and slip into it again very easily. This looks like a form of deild. Does anybody do this? If so what are your techniques? I think getting used to dream entry is one of the biggest foundations for dream control.

Lucid Dreaming | Question About All Day Awareness

So I was walking last night from a Cafe me and my friends go to, after losing a game of Chess, and I tried to notice every feeling, sound, and visual I could. The air didn't smell like anything but fresh air. I did this several times for a minute at a time when walking. Am I supposed to mentally confirm that I'm in a dream? Or do you just notice everything?

I kept losing focus when I did this, though, since a girl I know said she'd hang out with me yesterday, but ended up going out with her girlfriend instead, and then not answering my call afterwards. Still feel quite let down, at the moment, and am going to call her in four hours.

Lucid Dreaming | Anyone tried beddit for an REM reminder/trigger

Hi Folks,

Has anyone tried beddit as a way to help remind you of when you are in REM? I was thinking it be great for the monitor to alert your phone when you are in REM. Then have the phone issue a voice or light trigger, reminding you of REM.

Cheers,

razzy

Lucid Dreaming | Will my hard work pay off?

Ive been practicing awareness followed by reality checks every day for the past 3 weeks now. I don't really every reality check for a reason, the idea just constantly pops in my head to "become aware" and I do it. Ive only questioned my dreams once and I hope to more and eventually LD. Im just wondering if I'm on the right track and eventually my persistence and determination will pay off. It's just frustrating night after night not seeing any progress.

Lucid Dreaming | Having Issues with DEILD

I'm new here, so I hope I posted this in the right area!

I've been working on becoming lucid for a couple months now. I do my reality checks, and every now and then it comes through in my dreams. However, I very frequently wake up in SP, so I found out about DEILD and thought that maybe that was the best idea for me. I wake up in SP, several times a week and I already don't move, because I have always liked SP (I don't get any weird hallucinations usually), sometimes I swallow and I can feel my body un-paralyze and re-paralyze. I will either imagine the dream I was just having or if I don't remember I try to imagine a scene where it makes my body move. So I will get to the point that I will feel like my body is really moving and as soon as I realize that, it snaps me back into my physical body and surroundings and I need to start over. One time I got to the point where I heard my TV turn on, and saw the bright lights (and told myself ehh, it's either the start of the dream or the TV supernaturally turned on, so no biggie), but I couldn't get any images. I even felt my body rolling, like from toes to head, in a snake like whipping motion, it was hard to remain calm with that one! I thought maybe I just didn't open my dream eyes.* I just cannot get out of my physical mind and push my consciousness forward into my dream body.*

I tried again this morning, and I felt my body moving with the imagery in my mind and I snapped back and apparently, my heart speed up too much and I lost SP. Also during one of my dreams last night, it was getting creepy, and I realized everything was off, I all of a sudden became lucid and tried to fly out of the scene (I always take flight basically as soon as I become lucid, I just can't help myself! lol) since it was creepy, but I was trying too hard because I was so panicked and woke myself up.

Does anyone have any advice or been through some of my issues?

Lucid Dreaming | Cannot fall asleep while trying methods

I have had success one time doing MILD, but ever since then when I try to MILD or repeat my mantra in my head I stay awake and never fall asleep. Whenever I stop saying "become aware" in my head or stop creating a scene to dream in, is when I can actually fall asleep. I really want to continue trying these methods because I had some success but I also need to be asleep to use them! I appreciate any insights and advice! thank you :)

Lucid Dreaming | Motivation problems!

Alright, I have had a couple cool and rewarding lucid dreams lately, but for some reason I cannot seem to catch that "excitement" anymore.

I know the great potentials of lucid dreaming, and I can sometimes feel a short excitement when I go like "holy crap, I can do this in a lucid dream and that would be great!", but I cannot keep that excitement.

I just go to bed as usual and don't really care about dream recall or anything, and if I have a lucid dream, cool, but it's not something I seem to aim for anymore.

Why?

I know the infinite potentials of lucid dreams and I know I feel awesome in them when I actually experience them, but I guess they feel "too far away" while I am awake.

Is there some way to get back that constant excitement again?

THP Semifinalist: A Continuous Wave Radar

radar

There aren’t many Hackaday Prize entries playing around in RF, save for the handful of projects using off the shelf radio modules. That’s a little surprising to us, considering radio is one of the domains where garage-based tinkerers have always been very active. [Luke] is bucking the trend with a FM continuous wave radar, to be used in experiments with autonomous aircraft, altitude finding, and synthetic aperture radar imaging.

[Luke]‘s radar operates around 5.8-6 GHz, and is supposed to be an introduction to microwave electronics. It’s an extremely modular system built around a few VCOs, mixers, and amplifiers from Hittite, all connected with coax.

So far, [Luke] has all his modules put together, a great pair of cans for the antennas, everything confirmed as working on his scope, and a lot of commits to his git repo.

You can check out [Luke]‘s demo video is available below.

SpaceWrencherThe project featured in this post is a quarterfinalist in The Hackaday Prize.

Lucid Dreaming | How to RC when talking to people?

Are there any good ways of reality checking when talking to people? It’s difficult to do any of the normal RC’s like looking at your hands, pinching your nose etc. when in the midst of a conversation -- it always looks too obvious. So are there any good ways of accurately deducing whether or not it’s a dream in situations like this? Or are there perhaps any types of RC’s which would be suited to these kinds of situations? Thanks for your ideas.

Cops getting set up or infringing on our rights?

I watched a video on YouTube which is another “police infringing on out rights” piece. I am posting it below. The issue I have with many of these video’s is the cops are set up and the person filming is basically begging for trouble. Don’t get me wrong – police should NOT infringe on our rights, but come on! In the video below a guy is filming police vans coming into a police parking garage. Would a terrorist do something like this as part of a planning event prior to an attack? Sure. Does the police officer have a DUTY and responsibility to ask why someone would be filming a police station? I think so.

Here is the video:

In this video the officer was polite and professional. Technically I have the right to video tape in a public area whenever I want to but I also think that if I am videotaping a police department I should expect to get questions. I would absolutely take offense to being questioned if I was videotaping a tourist attraction.

Another situation I saw was a man that was videotaping a SWAT team across his street going into a house. They had a warrant and law enforcement announced over a loud speaker that everyone should go inside and lock their doors. The man videotaping refused to go in and was eventually arrested. He was on his own property and stated he did not have to go inside. Did the officer have a DUTY and responsibility to protect the man from his own decisions regardless of his “rights”? If there ended up being a shootout across the street and the man videotaping was shot – he would likely sue the department. Tough situation.

I am sure some of you may disagree and that is fine as I am pulled in a couple directions on this myself. The problem I have is these people going out and instigating the cops – just to try to lure them into saying or doing something to fit within their agenda. Is there a trend of abusive law enforcement infringing on our rights? Absolutely – but there are many good cops out there as well.

Lucid Dreaming | Was it false awakening?

So last night after 4h of sleep I decided to try SSILD technique seriously for the first time.

I stood up for a moment and turned the light on to write down my dream, however I couldn't really remind myself what i was dreaming about. I abandoned it and went straight back to bed.

I attempted SSILD, but I think I made a mistake of analysing and constantly thinking of doing it. I also think I shouldn't have turned on the light cause I couldn't fall asleep after doing all the cycles.

BUT here is what happenned next. I tried to fall asleep for 20 minutes and I even did RC to make sure it's not a FA. Then i thought "Ohh, f*ck this, I did something wrong and I'll will try my best next night" And then I tried to sleep, but I couldn't! I kept rolling over when suddenly my alarm clock rang and it was already 3 hours later lol. I'm sure I wasn't dreaming about anything.

I'm new to LD and i've heard that FAs occur a lot in SSILD, so was it one of them?

Lucid Dreaming | Dreaming about practicing stabilization techniques, then deciding to leave a dream scene

Last night I had a pretty interesting experience.

I had a dream where I for some reason decided to test the hand rubbing stabilization technique, and since I assumed that I was awake I got the exactly same effect as I would get in waking life - in other words, absolutely nothing.

But I was still very focused on the idea of lucid dreaming, and I think there was one point when I told myself to remember doing this stabilization technique "the next time I became lucid".

Then a while later I had a pretty annoying dream where I had messed up something for some guy, and I could hear that he was starting to get upset, and at that point I told myself something like "bah, I will leave this scene now", because I didn't feel like arguing with a dream character - and when I was awake in bed I told myself "yay, I successfully escaped ♫".

But I cannot say that my mind was very clear, it was more like I somehow knew that I could leave that dream and "get back to where I was in the beginning" or some similar vague logic like that.

What are your opinions on all this?

Lucid Dreaming | Semi-lucid to lucid?

Lucid Dreaming | What is common between the dream and waking...oh, and sleeping states?

We usually discuss a lot about dreamsigns, oddities, gravity, things that only happen in dreams. That´s fine, that´s perhaps the basis of modern lucid dreaming approaches. From that perspective, lucid dreaming is an extraordinary psychological and physiological feat.

But i will propose that our ancient cultures did approach lucid dreaming in a different way -they highlighted the common denominator between all possible human experiences. Of course that would be something truly simple and basic, perhaps something so obvious that we miss all the time, like our own eyelashes. That must be our own cognizance, the pre-conceptual awareness, the lucid and pristine knowing that you experience for a brief second everytime you wake up, or get so curious and open about something like a child inside a temple, or your thoughts seem to disappear by some reason.

In sum, i suggest that one doesn´t need critical thinking skills, or discriminating capacities, to become lucid. I think one only needs to recognize this always fresh, cognizant aspect of our minds which are indivisible from any experience, although we might believe that it is absent in dreaming, or in deep sleep.

Next time you are dreaming try to recognize this same sense of aliveness, of raw existence, and report what happens. The best way to do that is falling asleep in that recognition, and the best way to do that is to recognize during the day - short moments, many times - our primordial, pristine nature of mind.

Edit: if someone is confused about what i'm saying, i can help a little bit, but this is not something to think too much about, quite the opposite

Lucid Dreaming | Question about ADA

Ive started to practice all day awareness and I run in to difficulties when I do it. Aside from the fact that is difficult in itself, I have a hard time focusing on all of my senses. When I start to feel all parts of my body, I have less focus on sound. When I start to focus on sound I lose the focus on my body. This happens with all my senses and I just want to be able to feel aware of my surroundings. I appreciate all advice and insights! Thank you guys :D

Lucid Dreaming | strange first lucid experience..

The other morning I went back to sleep after doing some morning duties and I fell asleep at around 8am, what is to come continued for around 2 hours. So, at first the dream took me to a very small, simple white room that had a few tables in, I recognised myself as being at the restaurant I used to work at even though it looks completely different and suddenly all four tables were full of people in a busy, hurried mood. I went behind a small white screen and gathered the tools I'd need to introduce them to the restaurant and went to the table. Two customers were ignoring me as I tried to explain the menu and I lost my temper, after I shouted at them to listen as I spoke I realised I was dreaming and looked at my palm (I have a small H at the centre which I use as my reality check) and the H was turning into a black hole and kind of bleeding. I then, attaining lucidity, went blind in the dream. This happened throughout the next few sequences of the dream. It was like somebody was pulling my lids down tight but I could still see the outsides of the vision. Now why this makes sense to me is because I have been attaining shamanic drumming groups lately attempting to do shamanic journeying which involves, the way to get 'in' to the realm is to envisage a hole in the ground or some other doorway down into the earth. I have problems with visualising and it's always confounded me as 'seeing in your mind' has always confused me, I know it's; hypothetical, but it always frustrates me that I over analyse when attempting to do so, but this conscious, egoic frustration must have been triggered awake in the dream to 'blind me' as I became lucid, and just wondering if anybody out there has had anything similar? Their own doubts from waking practice hindrancing their lucid experiences?

Lucid Dreaming | Been at it for 2 years, no luck

So yeah my title basically explains my dilemma. Lucid Dreaming still is one of the biggest things I yearn to do, it's sounds so amazing and such a fulfilling experience, but I really haven't even gotten in close :(.

It's been 2 years ever since I first came across the subject of lucid dreaming, and it was back when people said all you need to do is lie in bed and count letters without moving for 20-25 minutes. I quickly learned it's not that easy. After I came across LD4all and Dreamviews I learned the true difficulty of lucid dreaming. And to this day I have not succeeded. I've maybe had a few dreams that were close, but obviously not close enough. To outline my problems:

1. I cannot DJ, I've tried but I always forget during my busy schedule and in fact it has come to the point where I can't even fit it into my schedule. I know this is a huge loss but I just really can't do anything about it. Any tips?

2. I have dry skin/itchy skin so it makes lying in bed still 10 times harder. I feel like this is making it worse when it comes to relaxing my body and staying still to make my mind think my body is asleep, so I don't know what to do or what to think if I get that insane sensation.

3. No method has really worked for me, so I switch a lot. I've tried a lot of user-made methods, MILD, WILD, SSILD, FILD, and a lot others and none of them have worked. I'm not sure what road to start on if I hadn't had success.

4. In dreams where I realize I'm dreaming (like nightmares) I tell myself I'm dreaming and then wake up. I'm guessing this is because this only happens in nightmares which are really scary and when I say "I'm dreaming" my mind wants me to wake up rather than make me lucid, but ultimately I'd rather become lucid.

These 4 issues are the biggest ones I've faced so far, but really it's just finding the time and motivation to fit it in my sleep schedule. it really sucks losing sleep or focusing deeply for weeks and not getting a single result. But then again I don't want to have to endure ANOTHER 2 years without a LD, that would suck so much.

I think that's all for now, let me know if you need anymore info. Any help appreciated. Thanks!

Lucid Dreaming | Proper way to use binural beats?

Okay I'm going to go into exploring binural beats. Is there a "proper" way to use them?

Do you just fall asleep and automagically get a lucid dream by random chance, or is it more like an enchancer and you're supposed to FILD/WILD with it?

Lucid Dreaming | Partially Lucid?

The past several days, I've had a couple dreams where I become, like, half-lucid.

I'll describe a couple.

I was in an old Western town, cowboy era. Adobe buildings loomed over me - they were really tall. Pretty vivid. At one point, I "realized" (for lack of a better word) that this town was a movie set; and then "realized" that I was in a movie. And at this point, I told myself it was a dream.

I remember looking around at the buildings, knowing it was a dream, and it was still very vivid. But the realness declined quickly. I tried to float upwards, and did, but the scene became black and white, like a movie scene. The higher I got, the fuzzier everything around me got. My head wasn't clear enough to decide to do anything else - all I did was float up, almost out of habit. It's something I like to do in almost every lucid dream I get. I woke up quickly.

In another, I don't even remember where I was. All I remember is becoming lucid, and making half-assed attempts at stabilizing the dream by grabbing at random objects, and spinning. Again, it was almost like it was out of habit. My head just wasn't clear enough to really look around and decide what to do. Spinning actually made the dream worse, and at that point I could feel myself waking up. But I didn't even care, or stop spinning. I just kept doing it, almost autonomically, not really observing the dream or even realizing the importance of staying lucid. I woke up quickly again.

So, do any of you become half-lucid like this? You realize you're in a dream, but don't act as you would now, fully conscious. You still act dazed and confused (great movie, btw).

Yees? Or no?

Lucid Dreaming | Tornado = Dreaming for crying out loud

Why can't I get this through my thick head? I've had consistent appearances of tornadoes in dreams for like 3-4 weeks without questioning a thing! -.- Every time it happens I like have my camera out and I'm all like, "YES! Finally I get to see my first tornado in person!" Literally every single time. wtf

Lucid Dreaming | Realizing that you are dreaming without actually understanding what this means

Last night I had a dream where I was kissing a cute girl, and for some reason I suddenly "realized" that she was "poisonuos" in some way (I don't know, maybe I had Alice Cooper's hit song "Poison" on my mind or something).

Anyway, I worried about this for a while, but then I spontaneously told myself "hey, this isn't real anyway, so there's no fear, I will be fine 'when I get back to the ordinary world' or something like that - and then I just became lazy and viewed some still image of the dream, apparently waiting for the dream to end.

It was some weird thing like that - I knew that nothing was "real", but I still didn't really get into my head what exactly this meant.

It was almost as if I knew I was dreaming, but was too lazy or stupid to understand anything beyond that.

Has this ever happened to you?

Was this some form of low-level lucidity?

Lucid Dreaming | Best technique from a LD 'veteran'

A little background about myself. I'm new to Dreamviews but not new to Lucid Dream forums. Around 5 years ago was when I started getting really interested in Lucid Dreaming after accidentally becoming lucid in one of my dreams. So I did what any teenager would do with a question, I went to google. Google made me come across a wonderful website, that's no longer active, called Astralviewers.com.

After spending days reading on techniques and stories on Lucid Dreaming and Astral Projections/OBEs, I began trying.... and failing miserably. Although my failures were probably attributed to trying the most difficult and frightening technique which is to induce sleep paralysis. I never actually obtained lucidity with WILD and gave up for a few months after becoming frustrated only to try again and continue failing later on and quit until recently.

Last year I started a new job and one of my co-workers told me he was becoming an insomniac because sleep deprivation was leading to sleep paralysis every few nights. I told him that he could induce and OBE through sleep paralysis or at least a lucid dream. I could explain exactly what he needed to do and after a few days he came up to me thanking me for an awesome experience. This inspired me to start trying again after years of failure.

I thought I would take up an 'easier' technique like DILD. I actually had success with DILD due to what I believe to be a clever idea. I wore a broken watch on my wrist and checked it multiple times a day until I memorize the image of the watch face since it never changed. In my dreams when I would look at the watch it would never be what I memorized it and I would become lucid. The only problem with this was that I couldn't control when I would actually look at my watch during a dream. I could go weeks with dreams where I wouldn't look at my watch.

Lately I've been researching again in what I believe is a last ditch effort because I love lucid dreaming so much but I find it so difficult to obtain. I found a Youtuber who swears by the FILD technique, and my problem with that technique is that I become too aware and I am taping my fingers and begin to become awake.

My question for all of you LD veterans would be what technique should I continue with or is there a technique with such a phenomenal success that I should try it? Has anyone else had as much of a stuggle as I have?:whyme:

Lucid Dreaming | Is being tired a mandatory symptom that happens when we are breaking rem phase (dreaming)?

Hi Everyone :yeah

I've recently decided to experiment with FILD Technique and i've got a question

Since the technique works best when we are woken up from an active rem phase (Disrupted dream aka?).

I heard lots of times that if we wake up during active rem then we feel tired, drowsy etc.

But is this kind of sensation mandatory and happens all the time?

I've tonight setup alarm which goes from quiet to loud during time of 30 seconds so it won't shock me out of dream etc.

And i belive i woke up from active rem phase since i remember dream suddenly ending and then be woken up by alarm

Yet i didn't feel tired at all after wake up (No this drowsy or tired feeling that was suppose to appear when we disrupt dream/rem). I could fall back into sleep after few seconds - 3 minutes after alarm stopped ringing (And so i did ;-) ?)

So i ain't sure if i really woke up during rem phase since i didn't felt any drowsy or tired stuff at all

Timer woke me up after 3 - 5 hours of sleep i belive.

Since i've heard lots of times that waking up during active rem results in being tired.

Help Would be quite great

- Thanks

Lucid Dreaming | On the right track? WBTB.

So last night I told myself I was going to do WBTB last night. Went to bed at about 10:30 after spending ten minutes browsing these forums and then woke up at 2:40am. Took care of any necessities and almost immediately fell back to sleep. Would this be a good routine to start out with? I can only try to convince myself to wake up as an alarm would be too loud at this time of morning because of my neighbors. No LD.

Lucid Dreaming | Some questions about some of my short lucid dreams this morning

It has been about half a year since I last had a lucid dream, but this morning I suddenly managed to have two of them (I believe I was more prepared than usual to recognize the dreamstate last night, before I fell asleep, so that's probably the reason).

However, just like most of my lucid dreams, these ones started as "Awakenings", which felt pretty much like getting out of bed, but knowing that I was dreaming.

Anyway, what I did was that I simply assumed that I was dreaming before I had even opened my eyes, and this worked 2 or 3 times (it was definitely more than once);

but each of these lucid dreams just consisted of me slooowly getting out of bed (for some reason I always move slowly in these dreams, I think it took like 10 seconds just to leave the bed!), and then I stood there in the darkness and tried a bunch of stabilization techniques, like rubbing my hands and spinning around, and this seemed to have a slight effect on the brightness - not much, but a little bit - and in the first dream I woke up, probably because I started thinking of my physical body.

Then I managed to become lucid again, in the exactly same way as before, and I acted the same way as well.

This time the dream lasted for a little longer, so I thought that maybe I could stay lucid more easily if I found a bright place - so I tried leaving my apartment through my bedroom window, since that was the brightest spot - but then everything suddenly turned black without any warning, and I found myself in bed again.

What are your comments on this?

Why did these dreams just end like that?

It seems to me like the slightest attention to my physical body makes the dream collapse.

Maybe I spend too little time on stabilization techniques?

I think I spent perhaps 10-15 seconds on them in both of these dreams.

Lucid Dreaming | My Drean Journal

So when I have dreams at night, I wake up right away to record them. I usually only get about 3-4 sentences about each dream. Is this too little? How can I strengthen my dream recall and be able to write more? (I am a writer so this really frustrates me, haha)

Lucid Dreaming | Best LDing technique with a white blood cell deficiency

Hello everyone,

I have a white blood cell deficiency, I could go into a long boring explanation as to what extent I have it and what causes it, etc. Long story short, it makes me sleep deeper/harder. :)

I rarely wake up at all in the night.

So my question is that I would like to know if there is a more successful LDing technique for people who sleep harder, over just doing normal MILD. (Which is what I'm currently working on).

Thanks for your time :)

Lucid Dreaming | everything u guys teach, HAS PAID OFF....couple questions tho....

Hey guys......as some of you already know I have had a few lucids, nothing spectacular tho....i just had dreams where i realized I was dreaming and i was able to change a few things......i recently came upon this site, after having a re-occurring dream i got tired of having and one night and in the middle of it, i just stopped and turned around and looked at all of my dream characters and said

"Im tired of having this stupid dream". then i purposely woke myself up.....

I've been naturally becoming lucid in my dreams all my life, just never really paid attention to it, or study it as an art....never really gave it a thought really until i got older and started having re-occurring dreams that i didnt like. I used to just closed my eyes really hard and I would wake myself.

I come to this board and I read all these skills about induction, incubation, stabilizing, RC's, etc......and the shit intrigued me....

So this is what happened a few nights ago....

I planned to do a WBTB........

set my alarm to wake me early.

went to bed.....

alarm goes off. i wake up with no memories of any dreams....

I get up, smoke a cigarette, watch some of my favorite pornstar for about a half-hour....

went back to the bed.....made plans

my plans with the WBTB were to start with a MILD, which may become a DILD, and if i wake, turn that into maybe a DEILD.

I lay down, saying my mantra....i dont remember when i stopped saying it...i just felt a short while of "darkness"...

i then get up, walk down my stairs, and see my dog, but my dog doesnt see me, so i try to walk past him...

when i do, he sees me and jumps in some sort of "fear"....when he jumps, it made ME JUMP.

But when I jumped....i floated.. BAM!----False AWAKENING!!!!

I actually thought i was awake........so im floating in my kitchen....i immediately get too excited and i can feel my heart racing....

i tell myself, "Calm down....this is it....this is what you've been wanting....relax".....and my floating stops....im standing alone in my kitchen

in mid dream....totally lucid.....

i remember everything you guys in here teach.....

it starts getting really dark.....i start rubbing my hands together and they get really hot, very quickly.....the darkness, 'stops'....

then i say out loud, "Ok, lets do this!"....so i SPIN.....when i spinned

i ended up in total blackness, or a a VOID....then im like, "WTF?" I can't see shit!....aw man.....

then all of a sudden in this darkness, i cant feel nothing but my head.....but i keep my eyes SHUT....then i start to feel my body....

then im like "damn....i woke my self by spinning"..

i open my eyes, and sure enuff, im laying in my bed again.....but I DONT MOVE! I said im not giving up, lets keep trying!!!!

i quickly remembered to do a RC with my nostrils and finger thru the palm this time, especially after the false awakening i just had....

my rc's fail, and im really awake....i lay back down quickly and shut my eyes trying to pick up where i left off....

with my eyes closed....im saying my mantra.......again...i cant remember the point in which i stopped saying it....

then i could FEEL....some time go by....eyes still shut...i feel very disappointed and discouraged now.....i feel like i cant get back to sleep....

but i dont give up, and i lay there.....

after what felt like an hour of being BORED IN THE DARK.....BOOM

I felt like i jumped out of bed....but i jumped into a giant bedroom filled with people. Somebody told me, "You're dreaming now."

it was the most VIVID REALISTIC DREAM i've ever had.

i'm standing in a room, and someone else says, "this is your room"......but in real life, it was my sons bedroom, only like 20 times bigger.

I'm amazed, at how real this seems, so i start talking to myself out loud...."Lets take a look around, lets examine some things..."

I jump and fly to the ceiling, which seems like 100 feet...I float and feel the walls, looking all around, I fly around the top of the room, looking at the posters on the wall, steroes, toys.....theres all kinds of random shit.....and i see all these people in the room...and i fly around them....i fly back and forth across the room.....and i rub my hands or look at them every so often...when i want to fly i just squeeze my hands together...the tighter i squeeze, the faster i go......

so then i want to really do some things so i land, and i ask "ok wheres my dream guide?"

(i had already picked what i wanted my dream guide to be, it was my first girlfriend from back when i was in high school....)

but whoever it is talking to me, i never see them.....

so i walk out of this bedroom, or "my bedroom" into the next room, which was a restaurant i saw in some movie....

as im walking i expected to see my dream guide, and here she came from around the corner, with an entourage....

she had on a business suit and she shook my hand and told me she was my dream guide, and she will assist me on my travels..

(she will tell me when i need to focus, or rub my hands, or let me know when my lucidity is ending....)

i saw many people i had never seen before in my waking life....and i just started staring at everybody....knowing that they were dream characters...

it felt SOOOOO WEIRD.it was SOOO AMAZING...I said, so 'THIS IS REAL LUCIDITY'.........my guide looks at me and smiles...and says "rub your hands together"...

so i rub.....

i read somewhere in this forum, that if you simply use the power of expectation....things will happen...

remembering that...i fly to the ceiling again, and started throwing fireballs....then i shot some lightning outta my hand....i reached into my pocket and pulled out a tommygun and started shooting it......IT WAS THE MOST AMAZING EXPERIENCE EVER...

Then i landed back down......and i thought about my favorite pornstar....thats when i ruined everything

i sat at the table, and expected to see her, and i looked over my shoulder, and she was sitting at the very next table....

thats when i got too excited.....

I went over and grab her, ....and lets just say uhhhh.....you know what happened.....

but after only a couple minutes....she started "smearing"....away...............then i woke up

Im like damn.....im back in bed....do another RC....yeah, im back in bed....but amazed....and i wake up about 5 minutes before my alarm goes off for me to get ready for work...

all you guys who write tutorials, and teach, and give advice, i thank you, your work has provided me with the most amazing experience....

IT REALLY IS WORTH IT....YOU WILL FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE YOUR VERY OWN PRIVATE MATRIX....

Im a newbie myself, but my advice---have in mind a few things beforehand what you want to do when you become lucid!

me personally, i cant use the spin move.....every time ive tried it, it woke me....which is something that ive probably created myself mentally by associating spinning with waking...so for me to teleport i have to use doors...

squeezing my hands together tighter to fly faster is something i used to do when i would dream i was flying as a kid, i picked it up subconsciously from the feeling of riding my bike faster, and i guess it just stayed with me....

my question to you all is...........i do RC's all thru the day, but i never remember to do them in dreams.....every time i became AWARE, or LUCID in a dream, it came from just AWARENESS....after i was AWARE, then i would do the RC to confirm.......but i never remember to do a RC randomly by itself...why is that?????

hOW do you remember to do RC's in dreams.....??? i must do them 100 times a day in real life

Lucid Dreaming | Struggling with techniques

As much as i dont want to make a thread like this, i really need to stop this struggle.

Do techniques work on the first try? or am i supposed to try them consistently? I've been switching techniques too frequently just because they dont work on the first try.

Lucid Dreaming | What's happening!?

So I don't have lucid dreams anymore! Since like two months ago, more or less, there's no way for me to lucid dream, even though I'm doing the same things as before and even trying new things to see it they worked.

Has this happened to anyone? Any tips, recomendations? Whatever! I'm desperate to be lucid again :rolllaugh:

Lucid Dreaming | How sleep Paralysis taught me Lucid Dream and more

Hi everyone,

First of all i would like to share that im healthy as of this point, i exercise everyday, meditate every morning and take morning walk to the nature when i have the time to (off days from work). Im 26 this year and am striving my best to achieve my goal.

Im here to share my dreams experience through my life. Ive been plagued/blessed with the ability to enter into sleep paralysis when i was young almost every day and have dealt with my nightmares up to the point of my teenage years. The very first sleep paralysis that i could remember was during the age of 7. When i could still clearly remember the details of the monster that lurks out from the dark while im paralyzed on my bed, unable to move. It was terrifying at such young age, however through many occurence ive come to realize its part of my dream or dreamscape (coined in at the age of 20), hence after a few more rounds of sleep paralysis ive develop a habit to close my eyes and wait for everything to disappear. At the age of 8 ive accidentally come across a method to hasten my exit within S.P. By shutting my eyes tight with force i could get out of my sleep paralysis and it also applies to nightmare that ive come to realize that its a nightmare. Interesting enough that sparks a very interesting journey for all of my dreams that have halfway turned lucid. From flight experimentation, elemental power weilding, telekinesis, blinking (short distance teleportation), teleportation, dream scape reconstruction, gliding (lowered will power which inhibits the believe to fly), metamorphosis and plenty of other stuff that in reality is impossible to achieve by human capability.

Now with all this i will go in depth with the things ive experience from then up till this point of my life.

Ive changed twice the method of exit from my sleep paralysis. The first time was at the age of 21-22 i cant exactly remember or pinpoint when did it started but i would say it became apparent due to the introduction of cigerattes and alcohol. When i first realize that i could not exit as fast as i could using the shut eye method, i accidentally found a new method to exit faster than the first method, which is to force my jaw wide open. That was the very first time ive come to terms with an internal war of willpower as i do not always exit the dream fast. The feeling of exiting via jaw opening is intense as the jaw will be extremely tense and forcing it open will induce the kind of feeling you get from your arm when you try and open a tightly screwed jar. That jerking and shaking. However everything was going well until recently more often that not i relent to the difficulty in exiting sleep paralysis via that way and proceed to using back the old method of shutting off the eyes. But it was torturous to tolerate through the countless of weird sound and monstrous demonic speaking and bassy vibration frequency before i come to reality.

On a side note ive come to realize that the sound frequency within the dreamscape and in reality is different. The transition from sleep paralysis to being awake happens from a very deep and bassy vibration, almost like a tibetan monk chanting to a high frequency.

Incidentally ive picked up an interest to delve deep into dream experimenting and understanding more about my dream and also of the metaphysics.

Somehow when i study more about the metaphysics, things start to collide with what im experiencing in the dreamscape.

Back to how the inhibition of my willpower through the jaw opening method, ive read somewhere that, the method to go into astral projection from sleep paralysis is to be calm and meditate within sleep paralysis and hence i tried, but instead of astral projection, i woke.

Ever since then ive always try and experiment with sleep paralysis to get into astral projection but I failed everytime. Either I go into a dream, lucid dream or i wake up.

Apart from this experience within the dreamscape, will power is very very apparent as a feeling. This sorta feeling to challenge your disbelief and to believe in the impossible is a feeling that i can compare to when you're drunk and you try your best to force yourself to appear sober, when you're in a class room and you feel like you're about to sleep but you force yourself to be awake AND absorbing the knowledge that you were suppose to absorb. (not just staying awake)

Even with experience of about 18 years, i would say sometime during a lucid dream i fail to achieve the things that i wish to perform, actually more so than ever. It seemed to affect alot more when you age, maybe the cause is the plethora of worries you get as you age.

Ive alot more to share but i think i will do it the next time. (regarding emotions, connectivity of reality and your dream scape, occasion representation of future from dreams even during lucid dreams, interference of dreams during bad thoughts provocation, first time lucid dream experience, Staying in dream while your first few lucid dream and many more)

The only thing right now im aiming to achieve in my dream currently is astral projection, but something seem to be blocking my entrance into it.

Maybe if someone could enlighten me. That will be fantastic.

Likewise im here to share and to learn. This is my first post and many of you might be skeptical (or not)

But im willing to explain every detail that you wish to ask. If not i would love to learn more about it. =)

Thank you for your time and patience. =)

Peace and Love!

Lucid Dreaming | Can you experience a Dream induced lucid dream during Non - rapid eye movement sleep?

I was just wondering if this is possible? I sometimes have to use an uncomfortable technique if i want to dramatically increase my chances of experiencing a DILD.

I put both my arms behind my back whilst lying down and take two medium sized rubber bands, so they're around both my wrists, then i hold a medium sized book and have my fingers grabbing around it so most of my fingers are underneath the book. I have long arms so my hands are sort of cushioned by my butt. but does partially hurt after a while. This however when tried allows me to occasionally realise i'm dreaming during a dream I.E. DILD.

But is it possible that if i attempt to use this for direct sleep when i'm very tired that i will DILD?? i usually use it with WBTB but i keep going through the same process which is wake up early on alarm + use rubber bands and book technique, convince myself i'm too awake to use technique, so decide to lye down for a little while but then end up falling asleep for an hour or 2, there by wasting an opportunity to DILD.

I should also mention that WILD rarely works for me being "comfortable" simply leads me to falling asleep instead of lucid dreaming. so yea can a Dream induced lucid dream occur during non rapid eye movement sleep? if so will it be "fuzzy" as a sometimes read about? thank you for answering

Lucid Dreaming | Only becoming lucid in very late morning

Usually if I have a LD (or am at least self-aware enough to consider the possibility that I might be dreaming), it’s always very late in the morning -- mostly after about 8 hours sleep or in the final hour or so before waking up for the day. I assumed you could have up to 10 or more dreams per night -- so it seems like there’s a lot of missed opportunity to become lucid in these earlier dreams.

I could be wrong but maybe this is the norm, and lucidity is just more difficult earlier in the night. Would anyone have any ideas on why this might be the case? Thanks. :)
