The Panhandle Rancher shares……

The Panhandle Rancher sent in a couple of pictures to share with everyone.

It is often discussed what to take with you when traveling. I find myself feeling very uneasy when traveling far from home due to scenario’s running in my head related to some unfortunate event occurring and I am away from supplies and/or family.

PR shares the following:

All of the non firearm items other than the knife in the photo with the M1A Socom nest in a .50 cal ammo box. One more box holds ammo in loaded magazines. Two magazines have steel penetrators and tracers, the remaining are filled with hand loaded ammo using Hornaday A Max bullets. 308 Win 168 gr A-MAX®

The black item top right of the weapon photo(above) is an 8 magazine pouch for .45acp. http://amzn.to/1FCpQ1D

Before someone jumps in and mentions the A Max is really a target round and not a hunting round, I still see good enough to try for head shots whenever possible.

Another similar ammo box holds travel HTs, spare batteries, chargers, pocket GPS, and a handful of relevant paper maps including WAC aviation charts AERONAV WORLD AERONAUTICAL CHARTS (WAC) from Aircraft Spruce.

I keep a Yaesu FT 991 in a foam padded long ammo box when not in use.

Last, a photo of the view from my mountain the other day.
