Lucid Dreaming | About WILD

Heyy all ^_^

So I have been really trying to have a LD since the beginning of the month. I've been doing reality checks and still I get nothing. I go to bed with intentions and still nothing. So I kinda got frustrated ( the worst thing to happen to me :D ) and decided to change the technique.

So I want to try WILD. In the past I have been trying to do WILD or something similiar to it. So I went to bed laid on my back and started relaxing. It does take me some time to do so. At some point I start to drift of ( and right here I don't know if I am doing everything right ) and how do I say it, well I was in something like a dram but not vivid at all I think I can say its close to false awakening, but not exactly. So at the moment I start focusing I like get sucked out of the dream scape and back on my bed with vibrations.

So from this point I don't know what to do. At some point I either fall asleep or turn to the side and fall asleep again from frustration. So my question is how do I preform a WILD so I can have a LD?

Thanks for the help ^_^

Lucid Dreaming | Haven't been able to LD in the 3 months I've been trying!

Roughly 3 months ago, I encountered Lucid Dreaming when I ran into a YouTube Channel called GizEdwards, who currently stays at the top of my SubBox now, which then lead me on to here and /r/luciddreaming, but I don't come on here much in all honesty.

To cut it short, I Don't really have much happiness in my life, which is one of the reason I wanted to start LDing in the first place, as well as to build on my creative side as well as trying to train some skills.

The problem is, in the 3 months solid I've been trying, I've tried my best to keep a positive attitude and to keep motivated, but now that 3 months has passed, I'm starting to lose motivation which is quite disheartening for me, due to the fact that I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

- I have a stable sleep pattern. 6-7am to 10-11pm. Set alarm for 3-4am every other day so I can attempt an LD.

- I keep a dream journal and record something in it every night. Even if I don't have a dream, I just write briefly what I would have wanted to dream about in a different colour pen so I know I didn't actually dream it.

- I've tried every method I've been able to find multiple times, and none of them have really worked. I started of with FILD, WILD, and DILD. Now I primarily focus on FILD and SSILD.

Anyone have any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Or perhaps why I'm unable to LD?

Thanks and Regards.

Lucid Dreaming | Can't seem to get a WILD

I tried WILD now a plenty of times and I don't get any HI or whatever you call it. I just lie down relax a bit and I just do like I always do when I fall asleep but staying conscious. I even tried counting my breath's but then I just wouldn't go to sleep I did it like this: 1... I'm dreaming 2... I'm dreaming. So it just doesn't seem to work. I do these WILD's when I nap so maybe I need to do it with WBTB?

Lucid Dreaming | Energy Exercises and Lucid Dreams

I will be honest, at the beginning I had no idea what the term Lucid Dream was. I didn’t believe that it is even possible to actually be in a dream and you are totally aware of that. The only think I knew was the term “Astral Projection” and I knew that you leave your body and observe it sleeping while you levitate above it.

Then I got my hands on this amazing book “Astral Dynamics - A New Approach to Out-of-Body Experiences” from Robert Bruce. I studied it and I was amazed from what you can achieve. I set the goal to manage the Astral Projection.

I learned that if I want to Astral Project I need to develop my energy body. I started doing the energy exercises, energy activation, energy rise and stimulation. I didn’t see any results for about 3 months but I felt the effects of the energy as been described in the book.

Then, one day I had my first Lucid Dream and then I learned what it was. Among with Lucid Dreams other strange things occurred while sleeping, like sudden push or pulls, high pitched buzzing, vibrations, flying shadows and some unexpected OBE (Whose I cannot classify if they were Lucid Dream or an actual Astral Projection).

I have seen that each time I do the energy exercises right before sleep, Lucid Dreams occur. Although I cannot have Lucid dreams every day, as long as I practice the exercises the Lucid Dreams are more frequent, longer in duration, more clear and I can do more supernatural activities without making the dream to fade.

Has anyone practiced energy exercises and instead of Astral Projection experienced more Lucid Dreams?

Lucid Dreaming | Was this a WILD?

I was laying in my bed for a long time

I remember that I always almost fell asleep I think I was just seeing random videos like when I'm in a dream but I then almost fell asleep and one time I was feeling like my body with the bed turned upside down and it felt like I was gonna fall out.

Lucid Dreaming | what to do now? sleep paralysis/obe/lucid dream

First off i wanna say i dont beileve obe is real, i dont get how peopel actually beilve your soul is leaving the body lol... am i the only that thinks that obe is just a great technique of acheiving lucidity that is very reptetive (leaving your body).

anyways i had sleep paralysis a few years ago up untill now and i am able to induce in the mornings before school now. ive only tried it once but i know for sure i can induce it. my first try was last night, i went to bed normally at 9pm, set my alarm for 5 am. I woke up turned my alarm off and prepared. I then quickly fell into sleep paralysis on purpose i had very little vibrations as it was starting. IDK how but i am able to control the vibrations. i read somwhere that you need to get the vibrations or sleep paralysis state to its max so i made the sleep paralysis stage extreme and vibrating. after that the vibrations kinda mellowed down but i was still for sure or at least i thought i was in sleep paralysis but i still could not move. So i tried moving really hard with my mind and i fucking sat up in bed... and i was like omfg im never gonna be able to sleep paralysis. I WAS IN a lucid dream OR OBE what ever you want to call it already but it was SO REAL that i thought i actually woke up. It was in the same room i slept so after i sat up i was like i guess ill try it again but then i really woke up in real life and i was in the position i rememberd that i went into befoer trying sp. THIS HAPPENED 3 TIMES, I HAD 3 FALSE awkenings. i woke up 3 times and was able to go back into sp 3 times within minuts.

So what do i do now? I have trouble going into an obe/lucid dream through the sleep paralysis stage. The first time i opened my eyes and i reached the floor with my arm and it was really hard. The second time i sat up. the third time i forgot what happened, but i pretty muched had a sleep paralysis and OBE on my first attempt at it. the only thing i have experience with is sleep paralysis.

So tommorow i plan on not falling for the false awakenings and hopefully i can explore. But i have a feeling its gonna be hard. How do i go to a lucid state from sleep paralysis. ALL 3 TIMES I ENDED UP IN MY EXACT ROOM AND WENT BACK TO SLEEP IN THE DREAM.

Lucid Dreaming | Almost WILD. What to do next.

Last night I attempted to WILD for the first time and made some good success. As I felt myself drift to sleep, I would do some math in my head to retain my attention and not lose my focus. After a good amount of time, I got into sleep paralysis and retained attention throughout. Once I was in it though, I did not know what to do next to actually get myself into the dream. I guess I was just waiting for the dream to create itself around me, but it didn't happen. Do I need to imagine myself in a place for the dream to form? Thanks.

Lucid Dreaming | Not being in my dream and other questions

Hello,

I have recently begun my lucid dreaming journey, again... And I noticed that I have many dreams where I am not within them, but I am just an observer. Unacknowledged and unnoticed. Does this happen to anyone else? Any tips for becoming lucid in a dream like this?

Also, I have noticed that I have only ever become lucid in highly stressful situations. A few nights ago, a group of goblins was trying to murder me when I realized I was dreaming, but I wasn't lucid enough to stop them from coming. I always wake up in these situations because the dream simply collapses around me. Any tips? It'll probably just become easier to control with practice, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has had these problems.

Lucid Dreaming | Too Excited when Trying FILD

Whenever I try FILD, I get too excited and my heart starts pounding. I still try, but when I start to fall asleep my heart really starts going. Is there anyway to calm myself down? For instance, could I play music or would that mess up the FILD technique and I wouldn't have a lucid dream?

Lucid Dreaming | Was this my first lucid dream?

Sooo, a couple of days ago while i was at the end of my dream, it was getting dark (the feeling when you know that you'll wake up in a few seconds) so i pressed my hand against each other and it was getting lighter again. But i wasnt really thinking about what i'm doing, it was just a reflex. I also didnt questioned if this was a dream. Sadly i have no idea what happend after that. Maybe i woke up.

Now to the lucid dream i got tonight:

I set my alarm clock 6~ hours after going to bed to try wild. I failed and felt asleep. I still remember what i dreamed but then suddenly i was in the kitchen at my house. There was sitting a girl and i suddenly started to press my hand against each other without thinking anything.( i didnt asked myself if this was a dream or anything, again just a reflex) It was getting light, then dark then light etc. Then i did a RC and succeeded. So i wanted to go out, i've put my shoes on, opened the door and was going down the streets. It felt really vivid except for a few little things at my neighbor's house which doesnt looked the real house. After every couple of meters i saw a yellow/orange light at the end of the road. It felt like the "map" around me is still loading, just like in video games. Maybe my mind was still building everything or something.

Now to the weird part. While doing this all, i wasnt sure if i was really lucid. I said to myself: I doubt that i'm lucid, i'm just dreaming about how it would be like if i really would be lucid.(kinda hard to explain)

I've started to practice going lucid about 2-3 weeks ago, so i have no experience with lucid dreams yet. I practiced a few methods but stayed with dild (from time to time a wild). I'm doing RC / SAT during the day and have a dream yournal.

So what you think? Was that a lucid dream?

Lucid Dreaming | All Induction Techniques Besides DILD Have Failed

I am wondering if anyone has been in my shoes and busted through this lucidity inhibiting barrier.

My problem I am having is that I can only enter dreams the conventional way. I fall asleep normally, dream, wake up, then remember them. Any attempts with induction techniques has provided no results. I usually try DEILD or WILD after 5 of more hours of sleep. I have also tried the finger induced lucid dream technique, and i have tried entering sleep paralysis with no success. The only couple of times I have encountered sleep paralysis were at random. I have tried waking to try induction techniques with a gentle alarm, and with a natural waking. No success either way. I have tried waking and moving for a bit, as well as staying perfectly still after waking from a dream.

Here is a rundown of my attempts. Generally I will wake after 5 or more hours of sleep. When going back to bed I will find a comfortable position on my back, relax, and make sure to not move a muscle. I also pay close attention to keeping my mind slightly active so I do not fall asleep. Usually I will lay there for a short time, 5-20 minutes, and nothing happens besides getting more woken up and frustrated. At that point I find a new comfortable position and go to sleep as I normally would but it takes forever, since attempting to induce a dream seems to have woken me more.

I fully understand and respect that lucid dreaming takes much time and effort. I just would like to be able to utilize induction techniques besides attaining lucidity through a reality check. For a reality check to work I need to perform the reality check in my dream. If I could enter a dream with a waking mind, lucidity seems like it would be much more consistent and attainable.

A bit about my sleep habits.

-Generally get 7-8 hours of sleep per night

-Supplements have not effected my dreaming...or maybe I just need a higher dose

-Dream recall average-above average. A couple detailed dreams a night with many fragments, generally 4-10 scenes total

-Extremely rarely experience any type of sleep paralysis or hypnagogia. Can only recall a couple of times in my life

-I sleep in complete darkness, usually alone

-I am a light sleeper.Once awake for anything over 10 minutes I find it very hard to fall back asleep.

-If I have all day to sleep, I generally wake up before 9 am. My body has never desired huge amounts of sleep

-I have not yet honed the skill of meditating. Heck I'll admit it I am terrible at meditating

-Practiced dream recall and lucid dreaming a couple years back, just getting back into in within the last couple of months

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Lucid Dreaming | MILD autosuggestion: Next time I see the light

Last night, in between two sleep cycles, I thought of a reformulation of the MILD autosuggestion. Instead of thinking "Next time I'm dreaming, I will recognize that I'm dreaming" (the standard formulation), I thought "Next time I see the light, I will look at my hands and recognize that I am dreaming".

The point is to avoid the chicken-and-egg problem associated with the standard formulation: In order to trigger the event of recognizing that you are dreaming, you must have recognized that you are dreaming.

If I set my prospective memory to check for light detection (something straightforward), and I set this task with my eyes closed, in the dark, chances are the next triggered event will be in a dream.

Have you tried it before?

P.S.: It worked last night! Thank you prospective memory...

Lucid Dreaming | Easy WBTB method for lazy guys!

Well, if you are a heavy sleeper and you hate to even open your eyes for doing WBTB and getting out of your bed, then this might help you:

you just need to have an alarm to wake you up or just simply do an autosuggestion before sleep that you will wake up spontaneously after some hours of sleep and you WILL...

you don't need to get out of your bed or read something or using bathroom to increase your awareness and to decrease your drowsiness.

JUST, stick your tongue out of your mouth. that's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to fall sleep in that situation. :D

even you may feel hyper-awake by doing this simple work.

you can stay awake as you as want by sticking your tongue out of your mouth....even after backing to your normal situation, you will be awake for extra minutes while you will feel fresh and awake. falling back to sleep is not hard too because your muscles are already relax as you have not moved them a lot.

I hope this help!

Lucid Dreaming | Was this a lucid dream?

Hi! About two nights ago I had a dream that I could not decide if it was a dream, a lucid dream or a day dream. I had woken up at around 3:30 for WBTB and had trouble falling asleep. After about an hour I remember being outside my house and I felt instinctively to RC by putting my finger through my hand. It worked and I immediately began to fly up and around my house. During this dream I remember thinking that I was not yet asleep and that the dream was just a daydream . The dream itself was not very vivid and I really did not feel in control or truly conscious of myself. Did I dream about daydreaming, have a weak lucid dream, or just dream about myself flying and doing the reality check.

Sorry if it's confusing!:P

Lucid Dreaming | Some questions + help

Hi. Yesterday I read about lucid dreaming and how it works. So I instantly started practicing RC and the rest found in the tutorials on this page. I was practicing the putting your thumb through your hand and looking at my hands RC. In the dream i instead put my arm through the glass in a window. I instantly realized I was dreaming. But then everything instantly turned black and I got into sleep paralysis. Had some scary black guy appear in front of me, anyway. I am wondering how I could actually stay in the dream. Because practicing all this to just instantly wake into a nightmare doesn't seem so great.

Will I always fall into sleep paralysis after a lucid dream?

How can I stay lucid?

Those are my main two questions.

Lucid Dreaming | A block on my lucidity, how to progress?

Hi everyone,

I have seen a lot of posts on the forums here regarding lucid like dreams, semi-lucidity, dreaming about lucidity etc.

I’ve experienced this recently and it has been fairly consistent, and I haven’t been able to have a lucid dream due to these occurrences. Last night I recall in several dreams, having the thought ‘I must be dreaming’ performing some reality checks and finding myself carrying on as normal. 10 fingers, check, no breathing whilst holding my nose, check, read some text, look back and it’s exactly the same, check. My assumption is I’m not dreaming.

I’ve had lucid dreams in the past induced various ways, but now I seem to be stuck! This has been happening for a couple of weeks now, following this type of dream/state/behaviour, however you wish to label it.

I’m asking for advice, similar experiences, how have you resolved it etc. or just general thoughts and comments.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Lucid Dreaming | Does this count as a Lucid dream?

So yesterday night I perhaps had my first lucid dream ever. I'll tell you what happened and you can decide if it was a lucid dream or a normal dream

-Before sleeping-

I cleared my mind and relaxed while listening to binaural beats.

-In the dream-

I was standing infront of a shower cabin and saw 3 baby turtles on the ground. At this point I was yelling that I had a lucid dream (I was really mad for some reason) but I really didnt know what was going on and I got a really bad headache. Then I summoned vague object (not at will but my dream made me do it) and woke up.

Does this classify as a Lucid dream although I had none/nearly control AND nearly non realization that I was dreaming?

Lucid Dreaming | Simple way to remember to RC (useful for students!)

Recently I have had to do a lot of studying for mock exams, so I found LD'ing pushed to the back of my mind. In order to fix this I put a small black pen dot on the back of my thumb on my writing hand, when studying it is always in my view, since I'm writing notes etc. I find it way easier to remember to RC this way.

I also notice it in classes, or when doing other menial tasks like getting a glass from the kitchen or reading a book.

Hope this helps!

Just received a LUCID M7 red dot sight. Initial impression is extremely positive. One aspect that is really impressive is a special setting that allows the dot to increase and decrease in intensity – automatically. Yes – you read that right. In bright sunlight the dot gets brighter and when it is darker the dot decreases. Will be running it through some tests over the next few weeks.

Lucid Dreaming | Need an idea

After practicing for almost 8 months and ending up with 5 sec LD I am getting frustrated. So, I will tell you everything I did and what I can't do and then you recommend me what to try next:

-I don't want to wake in the middle of the night, I need my sleep

-I can't do WILD, since I get twitches all the time

-Tried MILD, SSILD, DEILD and FILD, didn't work

-I don't want binaural beats or supplements

What to try next? I would really like to learn to LD, but seems I am getting out of options :(

Lucid Dreaming | Guaranteed Lucid Dreams

Hi Everyone,

It’s been quite a long time since my last post, but hopefully you’ll see it’s not been without a good reason!

Ever since I first discovered lucid dreaming, I found it really frustrating that for such an incredible skill so many of us find it so difficult to learn and there wasn’t a method for reliably and consistently becoming lucid. So many people I met who started learning about the same time as me, ended up giving up because they just weren’t getting results.

So for the last three years, I have been working on a way to change that, the idea was to come up with a guaranteed method for inducing lucid dreams. The system I have developed is called ‘Instant lucid Dreams’, and it has just been through its second open trial, in which 100% of participants successfully had a lucid dream within the first 7 days. After 30 days, participants were having on average (3) lucid dreams per week.

You can read the full set of results of the latest trial here: Instant Lucid Dreams Study

I wanted to share this with you, because I know there will be lots of people still struggling to get those first few lucid experiences, and the sheer volume of techniques, and advice can be a bit overwhelming. All I really wanted when I was starting out was for someone to come along and say ‘if you follow this method you will definitely have a lucid dream’.

Also when I was first learning to lucid dream the people on this forum were really helpful in offering their advice and sharing their experiences, so I want to make a special offer to say thank you. Lucid Dreaming | 2015: Year of the Breath, meditation, WBTB, confidence and dedication

I made a 2015 resolucid to work on awareness of the breath throughout this year. I'm slightly leery of making a year-long commitment to something, but I do feel confident that breathing and awareness of breath is a unifying theme in so many areas: meditation, relaxation, mindfulness, that I'm already working on, so it's not much of a stretch.

I will be making updates in this thread to follow my progress.

Breathing:

In particular, a number of times a day, I notice that I'm breathing, take a deep breath, and tell myself "I'm now aware that I'm breathing," and try to maintain that awareness, and make a strong "lucid moment" each time that happens.

Meditation:

In addition, I'm dedicated to daily meditation sessions, wherever I can grab them. Total quiet and lack of disturbance is hard to come by in 30-minute chunks in our crowded/noisy/small home, but I live near a park and figure I can at least go sit under a tree there (or on a bench now since there's snow everywhere). I'm trying to maintain a mindful/meditative mindset all through the day. I'm finding this easier to do for longer periods of time they more I do it.

WBTB: hate it hate it hate it, but there's no denying its effectiveness: fogelbise, Sensei, Canis, Dreamer, you can't go wrong with this veritable Who's Who of awesome LDers who all use frequent WBTB. So I'm going to jump on this bandwagon. Ew! I will learn to looooove WBTB, yessir I will!

Confidence: came across Ctharlie's link to a youtube video about the Lucidipedia guy talking about how he regained and strengthened his LD practice after realizing that endless acquisition of "tips tricks and techniques" was a distraction. Techniques can help to focus *you*, but the *you* is the most important part. *I'm a lucid dreamer!*

Dedication: don't just pay lip service, do all these things! Every day! Stay excited!

Lucid Dreaming | The 5 Fundamental Elements of Lucid Dreaming.

I have been gone for quite a while but I plan on posting here more often.

The 5 Fundamental Elements of Lucid Dreaming.

I’ve mentioned before that when it comes to lucid dreaming I would consider myself quite advanced but attaining lucidity is still a challenge for me because I often lose focus or become bored with the usual daytime routines. With so many different methods for lucid dreaming I find myself jumping from one to another without really putting that much effort into it (a problem I have with most things in life, not just lucid dreaming).

I brought this up with Sidd, a big burly chap who wears a Native American headdress and Doc Martens who, for lack of a better explanation, lives in my head (I would say hallucination but it’s not really a word I am comfortable with or that I feel is accurate, but anyway).

We both looked at what we thought was most important when it came to lucid dreaming and together we came up with, what we believe, are the 5 fundamental elements of lucid dreaming.

1. Relaxation.

For me relaxation is vital and has a massive impact on whether I will achieve lucidity or not. If I’m stressed throughout the day and go to bed stressed my dream recall and my awareness suffer for it. I often feel stressed at the end of the day (and at the middle…and the beginning) so I find this prevents me from putting the effort in when it comes to lucid dreaming. Exercises like meditation, first thing on a morning and before going to bed, is really beneficial. The Body Scan technique, where you focus on the tension in your body and try to release it, definitely helps with relaxation and is worth doing when trying to fall asleep.

2. Positive Mind Set.

This is probably my biggest downfall. I’m naturally quite pessimistic and struggle to think positively. Suffering from depression and other mental health issues makes it quite hard to think or feel positive. However I find the nature of my dreams responds to my mind set. If I don’t believe, honestly, truly, believe I’m going to get lucid tonight then I won’t. Believing in yourself, believing in your ability to get lucid, having a positive attitude towards it and not telling yourself that you’re a failure if you don’t get lucid has a positive impact. Your beliefs go a long way. Repeating affirmations and meditating are usually quite helpful when it comes to mind set.

3. Enthusiasm

I suppose enthusiasm ties into mind set because if you aren’t enthusiastic about lucid dreaming I find it’s very hard to get lucid. Whereas mind set is more about beliefs this is about getting yourself excited for lucid dreaming. Remember the awesome things you can do in dreams. You have absolute unlimited access to anything you want to use your dreams for. Writing a list of goals and things you wish to achieve helps with getting enthusiastic.

4. Awareness

Awareness is vital in not only attaining lucidity but maintaining it. Many times I let dream signs go by unnoticed. I don’t question the odd things in my dreams because I don’t spend enough time during the day being aware of my surroundings. Awareness ties into reality checks and practicing things like All Day Awareness where you fully engage all your senses and become aware of all the things you are experiencing. Practicing awareness also helps prolong lucid dreams in my opinion because I’m constantly remembering to engage myself in the dream and not let myself slip back into a non-lucid dream.

5. Creativity.

I find creativity very important. For me I spend a lot of my days drawing things from my lucid dreams (and non-lucid dreams). Even of if you don’t feel you’re very artistic or a good writer putting your dreams down on paper helps to engage your mind. You could draw something that you want to experience in your dream tonight or write a short story about it instead if you don’t fancy drawing. Either way I find being creative improves both dream recall and the changes of getting lucid.

So there they are- Relaxation, Positive Mindset, Enthusiasm, Awareness and Creativity. Incorporating these into your daily routine will surely have a positive impact on your dreaming.

Lucid Dreaming | Practicing Mindfulness wrong. Active vs passive awareness.

I have tried quite a few times to practice mindfulness/awareness but eventually a cloud of cog fog envelops my mind and I slowly stop practicing because of fatigue, and soon end up forgetting the whole thing. This is the longest that I've been with it and I want to keep it up, but it's mentally exhausting.

You shouldn't force your mind to be aware, you should allow it to right? I read somewhere that people most mistake paying attention for being aware. Maybe that's what I'm doing.

I look around myself, in a room, outside or wherever I may be, and get a sense of the space that I'm in. A feeling comes to me. I don't really think any thoughts. I don't ask myself if I'm dreaming, or a bunch of other questions, because that distracts me from the feeling. The same feeling I get when I realize I am dreaming. I feel...the emptiness in the room or the vastness of the field, wherever I may be. This is what awareness is, to me. Is that forcing it?

Problem is, the more I do this, the less easier it gets and the more I have to focus and concentrate in order to summon this feeling.

Lucid Dreaming | Hands

Just came to the thought, that if you look at your hands 10 times a day, and everyone of these times you look at them for 5 minutes, will they be more likely to appear in your dreams the more time you spend looking at them?

Lucid Dreaming | How Did You First Get Lucid?

Hey all, as I have yet to have a consciously induced lucid dream (I've had just two random ones) I was wondering what some of you used to successfully get your first LD. Feel free to be as descriptive or as brief as you wish, I just want to see what can help bridge the "gap" many beginners encounter.

Lucid Dreaming | I think I'm . . . Making Progress?

I have no special technique for inducing lucid dreams, not even a regular one. I haven't been following up on RCs except maybe once every few days. Really, I have no idea how this happened; I've basically been moving on with my life because lucid dreaming is the last thing on my mind right now. However . . . I think I'm making progress. This is strange because I haven't read about anything like it happening. There was no supernatural feelings, no anything at all! Here's what happened:

I think I was dreaming about something to do with a local store, a car, and some farm animals. Not sure but I think. And then it was morning and I woke up -- but I didn't open my eyes. Instead I decided to go back to sleep to bring back the dream. When I actually succeed in bringing back the dream (I've never done it before) I was sort of half conscious of being asleep and dreaming. Something similar has happened a few weeks ago too, just not as prominent. So is this actually progress, even though none of the 'signals' that you're having a lucid dream happened? Of course I know it wasn't truly a lucid dream, and it only happened for a few minutes, but I was definitely more aware during that time. I think it was because my dad opened my door and it woke me up, but I wanted to stay asleep and was so tired I was capable of bringing back the dream. :)

Thanks

GoatGirl

Lucid Dreaming | question about wild

So last night I got into sleep paralysis and I stood still and got hallucinations. First time getting those. And let me just say that it is scary/crazy. Usually I dont feel the vibrations and the buzzing sound but I did this time. And I could see my room with my lights on even though the lights were off. And I stood still through them but then It just wore off and I wasnt in sleep paralysis anymore. I was just in my bed again and I didnt feel anything and I could move.

Now that I think of it I didnt do a reality check. I couldve have been in a dream in my room after then effects wore off but I dont think I was.

Anyone can explain what to do once one has the hallucination?

or after we have them. I tried to imagine a dream scene with detail but It didnt work.

Lucid Dreaming | Help needed with FILD (Waking up)

I currently am on winter break and am actively pursuing FILD. However after as little as 3 days my biological clock adjusts to wake me up at 2 in the morning! As I have to go back to school in a week I have stopped the technique to readjust. Is there any way of doing FILD without disrupting my sleep schedule, even on only weekends perhaps? Thanks!

Lucid Dreaming | my DEILD (CANWILD) progress

Hey! I'm going to be posting my progression with CANWILD here. To me this is a really exciting LD induction method. It takes so little time to successfully set up and try out, but makes it easy to have an LD for beginners (or at least - that's what we will find out!) I'll post the experiences I have with this method here so anyone interested can check it out and maybe learn something. I'll be trying this twice a night.

January 5 2015

alarm set up fairly successfully but way too close to my bed; both times when it rang I was literally jolted up and I think it broke the sleep paralysis - so no success tonight but good to play with the options and hopefully have a better chance tonight. Did experience one FAwhen I heard a different alarm ringing really loudly near the printer in the corner of my room. If I had done a reality check I could have become lucid - so I should always RC if I hear a different/weird alarm. An interesting thing to note is that in the FA is I didn't have the same awareness that I've experienced after waking up from the alarm sound normally, I'm normally pretty awake and can concentrate and think as if I was awake; but during the FA I couldn't concentrate at all - this should have tipped me off. My first attempt was a failure because I didn't wake up during REM sleep. Second attempt failed because I swallowed and then shuffled around too much.

Attempts: 2

LD: 0

FA: 1

Lucid Dreaming | Good signs or still far from Lucidy? (Newbie)

Hello, i already discovered Lucidity a few years ago but just about a week ago i found the motivation to try it. Especially after reading many different threads about it.

So i tried it now 4 times with the Wild technique.

Try number 1,2, and 4 were right after going to bed. I've read that its better to do it after 5-7 hours but it also shouldnt be impossible.

First try: my body went numb(or atleast i couldnt feel it), then a light started to appear every ~10-20. After that my heart started to beat pretty fast and i cancelled it because i was a little afraid.

Second try: same as above but i overcome my fear and continued to try. After a while my body started to tingle. After ~30minutes i cancelled.

Third try: Slept ~6 hours (without trying wild before going to sleep) and then woke up and tried to CANWild.(basically wake up without moving). Nothing happened for ~15minutes -

Fourth try: Again right after going to bed. Numb body, tingle, white light & my heart was beating pretty normal. I also often got the feeling that i got "dragged" into the light, very weird feeling but not in a bad way. But nothing happened after that and then i cancelled. Maybe because i moved my eyes while they were closed? (That happens pretty often to me, is there a trick to prevent the eyes from moving?)

While i'm awake i try to do RC's. Maybe about 10x a day. (finger through hand)

So after reading all this... am i doing it right? Are these lights, tingles a good sign? Should i continue to do Wild in the evening instead of in the morning with a few hours of sleep?

I know it can take a while to Lucid dream and i also dont want to complain with this thread, i just want to make sure that i try it correctly.

Greetings :D

Lucid Dreaming | Brighter or darker room is better for lucidity and recall ?

So i got a little confused. Some time ago a read that brighter room is better for acheiving lucidity becouse it promotes production of some hormone. I can't find it now, what hormone exactly, but now anywhere i look i only find people saying that darker is overall better. So now i'm confused, leave the blinds open or closed. Any tips ?

Lucid Dreaming | Difficulty Concentrating During MILD

I’ve had a lot of successful MILDs so far, but when I try to do it, my mind usually wanders and I find myself thinking about anything other than my intention to become lucid, as well as becoming lost in daydreams, making it very difficult to focus.

It has nothing really to do with tiredness or falling asleep -- it’s just that other thoughts seem so much more interesting and a lot of the time I just prefer to daydream or think about things that happened during the day etc. Basically anything interesting that takes my attention.

I’ve heard that meditation can be good for this kind of thing, as it helps you to block out interfering thoughts and increases your ability to focus (I think). I have tried meditation but I usually encounter the same difficulty during this as well! I’m also not sure how good of a solution meditation would really be.

Would anyone have any advice?

:thanks:
