Lucid Dreaming | My experience so far with the reverse psychology method

Here's my first official post! Let me know if I mess anything up, I'm still getting used to this website and its mechanics.

I promised myself that if this technique showed some results, then I would make a post to share the experience, so here we are! I first discovered this technique a few years ago but only recently decided to go through with it. If you don't know the technique I'm talking about, you can look it up on YouTube, google, or this website for a more in-depth description. The basic idea is to create an object of great desire and mystery, this object can be a container filled with something or things as long as the holder never knows what is inside. For example: I have a small magic box and asked my sister to buy random objects to put in the box. After giving her some money, the box, and some notes, I sealed the box with tape and carry it around with me throughout the day. The only thing I know that is in my box is a note saying: "You are dreaming" and a letter from my sister and father. When I see the box, I remind myself that "the only time the box will ever be open is in my dreams". I also spend a few minutes before sleeping doing MILD while holding the box and repeating the same phrase I use.

The box was sealed on August 7th and after carrying it around with me for 12 days, I have seen it in my dreams 4 times, opened 3 times. I can see that this technique is the most promising I've tried in a long time. I only have 2 obstacles in my way at the moment from getting me to lucidity and dream control. The first is: the box doesn't always show up, so hopefully it will appear more if I continue with my routines. The second is: in my dreams where the box is open, I'm meant to take that as the sign that I'm dreaming, but instead I believe the box is actually open and now I have to replace the items in the box. Not sure how to fix this unless I get lucky with DILD and open the box to find the note I put in there :chuckle:

Anyway, I think that's everything I wanted to say about this technique. My next goal is to post a DJ entry here of when I actually become lucid from the box. Let me know if you're curious about anything, I'll happily answer! Stay lucid!
